Don't be confused with the buffet up in Mt. Crawford and this family restaurant in Staunton. This is the Rowe's restaurant located just off of I-81 at Rt. 250 - easy off and easy on. We (our family) have been going to this restaurant for years when traveling up and down I-81 and we have always found the food to be very good - never disappointed with our meal. The restaurant is very clean and the service is very good with attentive, friendly waitresses. Granted, it's not fancy or upscale but for food that tastes good and is served hot, you can't be it. It can get crowded on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays but if the wait isn't too long, it's worth it.

Erka's review of Mrs.Rowes on 3/18/08 seems to be about the buffet in Mt.Crawford Va. There are 2 locations of Mrs.Rowes, the sit down in Staunton and the buffet in Mt.Crawford on Rt.11. Was at the buffet on 7/08 08.Fried Chicken OK,but salty and a little dry(probably a problem of all buffets) Good salads & sides.Good spoon bread.
a little pricey for what you get .But sorry,the pies! crust should be flaky,not gummy.good fruit fillings- not the rest,standard puddings topped with airy meringue.

Absolutely the best place for breakfast (or any other meal) on I-81 in Virginia. Don't forget to take home some fresh baked items after your meal.
