My husband and I arrived on a Friday evening and the place was hopping! It was a 20 minute wait for a non-smoking table, which is never long, especially if there's a bar on site. We were seated well within 20 minutes. It was very crowded and pretty noisy, but the overall mood was cheerful. The menu was expansive. Most of the things on it you would expect to see on a pub-type menu, but there were gourmet type items interspersed throughout. My husband had the crab and bleu cheese bisque. It was not as heavy as most bisques I've had, but it was tasty. The bread is fresh baked and the butter blended daily.

The ribs are what people come for. They were every bit as good as advertised. The salad and the vegetables were fresh and robust looking, which is tough in December, and the orange-poppyseed dressing was really nice on the fresh greens.

The most special thing about our dinner was the service. Our waitress did not miss a detail. She was attentive without being overbearing and made sure that the meal was perfectly timed.
I can't remember the last time I went to a restaurant where the service was pleasant and efficient. I really wish I had gotten her name, because she made the difference between a nice dinner and a memorable experience.

Had dinner here .Wonderful food great service BBQ ribs to die for .......keep doing what you are doing it works very well. Get there earlier to avoid disappointment ie no tables left .Good wine list with very helpful & cheerful staff .Daily specials as well .

Our local B&B suggested this grill and it was superb. A short wait of 10 minutes for a table in midweek (we had not booked) indicated good things to come. The restaurant was full of local people and had a good atmosphere. The food was varied and although all three of us chose different meals we found them superb. the portions were average US sizes, good quality food that was cooked perfectly. We had ribs, steak and salmon, a marvellous peppermint sorbet and creme brulee to finish. If you are in the Staunton/Waynesboro area try it you won't be dissappointed.

The pub ambiance was not what we were expecting--this is the best place in Staunton? But then the food came... wow!

From our appetizer (a special--baked goat cheese), simple delicious house salads, fresh bread (with blackberry butter--the flavor of the day), huge entree (the St. Louis ribs were the best we've ever had), and a great chocolate cheesecake for dessert... this was a fabulous meal. Attentive and knowledgable waitstaff. A great experience all around.

Next time we are passing through this area, we'll definately stop again!
