While traveling through Virginia last week we were taken to Mill St. Grill. Every entree (4 people) was outstanding, the crab asparagus bisque to die for and the wine prices, by the bottle, were shockingly reasonable. Excellent service. Best meal on our long trip.

We had read about the Mill Street Grill on TripAdvisor, so decided to put up with the wait to eat there on a trip in May, 2007. It was well worth the wait!! The ribs were absolutely outstanding -- certainly the best I've ever had anywhere. Service was excellent and discreetly entertaining, and the wine list offered a wide range of selections. I give it 5 stars!!

We have visited this restraunt several times in the 7 years of living in Staunton. There are nt many places in town that are not chain places, so this one was tried the first week we movered here. To say the leat, it's almost the best place in town.

We have tried the soups which are very tasty but the ribs are the best on the menue (per my wife and mother). I enjoy sandwiches and have tried them all. My favorite is The Middlebrook". The appitizers are also very good. We have not had anything that is breaded so I cannot comment on this as others have.

In season they have some of the best soft crabs we have ever tried (other than those in our hometown of Baltimore).

We will continue to visit Mill Street in the future.

My friend and her husband and I went there on Friday, September 29. I was visiting from out of town so it was my first time there. Of course, it was very busy because it was a Friday night, so there was a 40-minute wait for a table. We went to the bar area while we were waiting, which was very small and packed with people, so there wasn't much room to stand. Mixed drinks were $7.95 each, which I think is kind of expensive, but my drink tasted great and the bartender was very nice.

Once we were seated at our table, we had a great waitress. The bread they bring out to your table is wonderful, and it came with strawberry butter, which was excellent. I ordered the potato-crusted rockfish and garlic mashed potatoes, which were excellent as well.

Overall, the service, food, and ambiance were great. My only complaints were the small bar area and expensive drinks. However, I highly recommend the Mill Street Grill. If you go on a weekend evening though, be prepared to wait awhile for a table.
