“Excellent hotel - much more than expected!”

SpringHill Suites Dulles Airport

5 of 5 stars
Virginia Beach, Virginia
Mar 6, 2008

I stayed here for one night before getting an early flight out of Dulles the next day. I really wish I could have stayed at this hotel longer but do plan on staying here on future trips to this area.

The hotel was absolutely gorgeous and much more than I expected. Check in was quick and easy. The room was immaculately clean and the hotel looks (and smells) new. The room included 2 double beds, a flat screen tv, kitchenette area with sink, mini-fridge, and microwave, a sofa bed, desk, and vanity outside the bathroom. I especially liked the dimming lights above the beds.

Definitely check out the different alarm settings on the clock- it had ocean sounds and a few others.

Wireless internet in the room ran a little slow- though you could hook it up if you wanted. I chose to go down to the lounge area and sit by the fire- internet was a little quicker from this main area.

This hotel had coffee and breakfast in the morning though we left a little too soon for the food. But the set-up looked good.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and was extremely impressed with everything it had to offer.

“Stayed with Kids”

SpringHill Suites Dulles Airport

My family and I just completed a 5 night stay at the SpringHill Suites Dulles Airport, and we could not have been more pleased. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are spacious, and the staff was very helpful. At 3:30 a.m. on our first night there, my one year old got sick, and the front desk representative was very accomodating. She provided extra washclothes, trash bags, and printed directions to the nearest 24 hour pharmacy.

My kids all loved the breakfast offerings, and I enjoyed the flat-screen HD tv in the suite!

“Need a good hotel near Dulles Airport? This is the one.”

SpringHill Suites Dulles Airport

Oct 12, 2007

What a surprise! This was my first Springhill Suites and I will certainly check out others. The hotel looks good, staff are friendly and the amenities are great. The super-fast and free Broadband in the lobby was handy for checking email and printing boarding passes. The suite was a good size and comfortable. I only expected shampoo and was pleasantly surprised by conditioner, lotion and a makeup remover sheet. My room overlooked the highway but as another reviewer said, I wasn’t disturbed by noise.
When I needed dinner to be delivered to the hotel Guest Relations recommended a local Italian restaurant , Joe’s. They were affordable and the food yummy! I recommend the calzone and tiramisu.
Continental breakfast provided a good choice of toast, bagels, cereal, waffles, fruit, and juices.
Only bad comment I have is not against the hotel. They recommended Washington Dulles Cab and “guesstimated” a rate of $25-27 to Tysons Corner Shopping Mall. It turned out to be $43 ONE WAY for a 15-20 minute ride. Ouch. The vehicle was a nice SUV and the driver delightful but wow, the rate really hit my shopping budget. I really feel that I was “had” on the rate as there wasn’t a visible meter.
I was happy to use the hotel’s complimentary airport shuttle the next day!
I have already recommended the hotel to people and will continue to do so.

“Beautiful Hotel with Great Service”

SpringHill Suites Dulles Airport

5 of 5 stars
Huntington Beach, CA
Sep 22, 2007

September 17, 2007. I wish I could have stayed longer! The SpringHill Suites at Dulles Airport is a beautiful new hotel. Service was friendly and efficient. The rate for my suite was $197 per night. This was a reasonable rate compared to other hotels in the area.

Check in was “Marriott fast,” taking about 30 seconds. I gave the associate my name; she welcomed me and handed me my key packet for room was 332. The only negative aspect of my stay was that the two elevators were slow and the background music in the elevator was too loud.

The suite was great. The first thing that I noticed was the large LG flat screen TV. I have had these in several other hotels, but this was the first to actually offer HD programming. There were about a dozen HD channels and the picture was amazing. The hotel also offered pay-per-view HD movies, but I did not have time to watch one.

The suite consisted of a work/kitchen area with a good size desk, wired internet connection (complimentary), a office-style chair, and a micro kitchen. Internet speed was good, with download clocking at 340K. The upload speed was faster, clocking at 580K, which I thought was unusual. Connection to our corporate VPN worked fine.

The sitting area is separated from the sleeping area. In the sitting area there was a fairly comfortable sofa and arm chair. Lighting was very good. The bedroom area had a very comfortable king bed with both feather and foam pillows. The bedding was the new Marriott style with a duvet cover that is changed for each guest. Lighting in the bedroom area was also excellent. The TV was placed so that it could be swiveled and be seen from almost anywhere in the suite.

The bathroom consisted of a separate vanity area and bathroom. Both were well lit anf very functional. Bath amenities consisted of two bars of soap, shampoo, conditioner, loation, Scope mouthwash, and a make-up remover cloth. For bathing there was a combination tub and shower. Hot water flowed immediately and water pressure was excellent.

The hotel was very quiet, which is very important to me. I did not hear any sounds from other quests.

My requested wake-up call came exactly on-time. The hotel offers a very nice complimentary breakfast buffet. Hot items included egg patties, sausage patties, make-your-own waffles, and oatmeal. There was a wide variety of cold items. The breakfast room itself was spacious and inviting with a large-screen HD TV on the wall. The evening before the fireplace was lit.

The hotel has a fairly large exercise room and a nice indoor pool and whirlpool spa. I did not have time to use either, but took photos.

I was traveling with my boss who would typically stay at a Hilton brand hotel. She commented “this is a really nice hotel.” I would definitely recommend the SpringHill Suites hotel near Dulles airport. The hotel is beautiful and the service was great.

“We Enjoyed Our Brief Stay”

SpringHill Suites Dulles Airport

4 of 5 stars
Minneapolis, MN
Jul 20, 2007

My friends and I stayed at the SpringHill Suites Dulles Airport on our first night and our last night. We flew into Dulles and got to the hotel by 11am and our rooms were ready for us to check in.

The front desk staff was very friendly! The hotel was obviously new and in great condition. The only complaint we had was that only one elevator seemed to be working at the time, and it was rather slow.

The complimentary breakfasts were delicious and there were plenty of choices. I loved the Belgian waffles and the fresh fruit. We also enjoyed making our own breakfast sandwiches, yum!

The rooms were very clean and in great condition. Very spacious and great amenities. The beds we slept in were comfortable, and the rooms were quiet. I was a little concerned because the hotel was by a highway, but I didn't hear a thing.

We didn't use the pool, but we did use the free internet service to check our flights and to get directions. The lobby and breakfast area were clean as well.

When we arrived for our last night of vacation, we got there around 9:30pm, and the staff was still very friendly to a bunch of tired tourists.

I would highly recommend staying here and then taking the Metro to get into DC. I know if my friends and I go back there again, we will definitely stay at least one night of our vacation at this property.
