This is a full service hotel with a restaurant giving a beautiful beach front view. It's right on the bay with a gorgeous, spacious beach front area.

The rooms were very large with a full living room and separate bedroom area. There is a small kitchen area as well. The balcony looked right over the beach and bay, making for calm evenings and mornings.

The hotel staff was very courteous, even sending someone to pick us up when our car temporarily broke down at a local restaurant. Parking is free, which is always a positive when traveling.

I highly recommend this hotel when traveling for both business and pleasure.

My family and I visit this hotel every July, and we're never disappointed. It's nestled directly on the Chesapeake Bay, away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy area by the Virginia Beach beachfront hotels, yet only minutes away from that type of action, should you care to partake. You can step out the back of the hotel and directly onto their beautiful beach access on the bay, or you can hang out in their indoor and outdoor pool, if you prefer. It's so relaxing!

When we visit, we always make sure to enjoy at least one meal or more at their Tradewinds restaurant, which overlooks the beautiful bay. Their white tablecloths add to the classiness of the restaurant (although casual attire is permitted), their food is delicious, and their service is great! All of the hotel staff offers top-notch service, as well. They're always willing to help and go the extra mile to make sure that you're satisfied. We love it there!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We were looking for a quiet first trip to take our little ones aged 2 1/2 and 5 months. We had a restful, beach vacation. Wonderful for the kids to be able to swim in both the indoor and outdoor pools, and to have the beach so close. The water is calm and the beaches are clean.

Back at the Virginia Beach Resort for our annual family gathering for my grandmothers birthday and another memorable stay. My children and I stayed on Friday night before the tropical storm hit and watched the storm come in over the bay. I think that is almost as beautiful as the sunsets there. We had a two bedroom suite with a king in one bedroom and two beds in the other bedroom. The power went out on Saturday morning because of the storm and the staff was right on top of everything, handing out flashlights and directing guests on what to do. They were even able to keep the restaurant open and it became a nice gathering for the hotel guests. The power was back on in about an hour and the storm cleared off by the afternoon. We had dinner in Tradewinds (the hotels restaurant) for my grandmothers birthday with about 25 family members and it was great. My children and I look forward to going back every year as the highlight of the end of summer!
