Upon moving back to Va Beach, my husband and I tried as many restaurants as we could find...we went to Lynnhaven over a year ago and found the service less than desirable but the food acceptable (although somewhat overpriced). A year later, I took out of town guests there, assuming that my experience was due to going on a busy weekend evening the first time. I was absolutely amazed at what happened...the waiter came out with only 2 waters for a table of 3 adults. Then, we ordered the house chianti and he came back 10 minutes later to tell us they didn't have any. So, we ordered beers and tea; he disappeared only to come back with beers but no tea and then he left to go to the table behind us. We noticed that the owner had talked to the gentleman at the table behind us and they were obviously on personal terms...I say 'obviously' because they were brought water and drinks (including tea) and they even ordered before our waiter ever came back to our table (they arrived at least 20 minutes after us), at which time we paid for our drinks and left and went to Bubbas!!!! We will not go back to Lynnhaven. And to reemphasize how deplorable this experience was, this is the first ever negative review I have ever given a restaurant so it's not like I have outrageous expectations....I just want to be treated with dignity and courtesy...and we got neither at Lynnhaven.

Had some rockfish, which, while not strongly seasoned, was the freshest darn fish I've ever tasted. The girlfriend had the fillet mignon, which was also delicious. Service was so-so (not bad, just typical nose-in-the-air waitresses), atmosphere was very cool (on the edge of the ocean!).

Living in Virginia Beach, I can tell you to skip the all you can eat buffet's and come here. Why? Although you might not necessarily pay less, the quality, atmosphere, food, and service are all amazing. All the fish is fresh and the selection is amazing, whether its the catch of the day or off the menu. My wife and I almost always wind up leaving with a 'to-go' box.

Over the last year, we have been here probably ten times and I always leave saying it is better every time. In addition to recently remodeling (take a look at the carpet--it has fish on it!), we almost always see the owner, Chris, actively walking around and not just talking to people..cleaning tables, bringing food out. In addition to top notch food, we have noticed that the wait staff does not have very much turnover, which is great.

Skip Captain George's, Skip Red Lobster..The lines are too long, the food isn't fresh (it's frozen..and brought in on a truck!!), and it is overpriced. If you want to experience a true, local seafood restaurant, come here!

This restaurant has a wonderful view, good music, nice decor but the chef needs to know the proper way to cook fish. I had the Red Snapper and it was actually tough. It had to be cut with my knife like you would a not so tender piece of steak. When our waitstaff person, finally checked on us, I mentioned it but told her I didn't want anything else. I had eaten about 1/3 of it by the time she finally asked. My husband's Tuna was not cooked enough for him and not seasoned plus very dry. He was not asked how well done he wanted it when she took our order. Neither one of our entrees had much taste. We noticed the other waitstaff was very attentive to their customers, but ours was not. This had nothing to do with the entrees being cooked so poorly. If you want to go for the ambience, by all means do. Order a salad and an appetizer and maybe even a sweet potato (very good), but not the entrees.
