Our party of 6 heard rave reviews about Dirty Dicks in Virginia Beach. The visit to the restaurant started out with a bang....taking several minutes to even receive a greeting from the host at the door. Our server was not very friendly or prompt in greeting our table, which could be excused due to the fact that our party consisted of young twenty-somethings, generally stereotyped as poor tippers (we, however, consistently tip above average, but we are well aware of and understand the stereotype). The appetizers were delicious and reasonably priced, but the rest of the meal, not so much. The entrees are ridiculously overpriced for the quality received. My advice: either drink several drinks at the bar before the meal (a good buzz would be much needed to enjoy it!) or just order appetizers, hush puppies and fries (the only food worthy of the price). We were not impressed with our experience at Dirty Dicks - for the same price, much better service and food quality can be found in Virginia Beach.

7-20-07 had lunch at my exfavorite restaurant-dirty dicks crabhouse.Ordered king crab. Food quality was poor, service was poor. Rude staff and manager.Go anywhere but there.

What a treat! Our chapter of Red Hatters decided to return to Dirty Dicks since they were closed the last time we had reservations. We were determined not to ever set foot in there again but the manager Dale Green called and invited us back and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and very special! We were welcomed with small banners, mints and fresh flowers on each of our tables. We were served wonderful hot hush puppies while waiting for our lunch and treated royaly. Our two waitresses were excellent and patient with our large group of ladies! Sometimes that can be a big feat to tackle. Hahaha...Dale offered to take pictures for us on their great outdoor deck and even presented me with a Dirty Dicks Beach Towel. Not only was he polite and courteous but seem to be genuienly sorry about our previous visit. He even gave us a 50% discount for giving their restaurant a second chance. Now that is great PR!! I would not hesitate to return after experiencing this kind of treatment. Thank you Dale for a wonderful luncheon which we all enjoyed! We will be back!

Everything was below average. Problems from the get go. No saltine crackers for steamed oysters. Want to substitute those COLLARDS that come with the special fish entree that they charge a premium for. THAT WILL COST YOU X-tra. Want drawn butter for those steamed oysters? That will cost you x-tra. I can't believe all the problems from one place at one sitting. Don't complain to the general manger/owner he'll give you a famous qoute. (We are not begging for your business). Well I asked the waittress for our bill & this is when I found out she was told by the manager to charge us X-TRA for the drawn butter. What a jerk. Recimmend any other place to go for dinner!!!
