We were going to spend a few days down at Williamsburg. I went onto Trip Advisor and found Lord Paget. Price was good, reviews were mostly good (and those that were bad seemed to have no comprehension that this wasn't an expensive location) so we made the booking.
Arrived to find it much as expected, low cost, kinda dated but clean and the staff were friendly. It wasn't until we checked in that we discovered that (a) the wireless Internet really didn't reach our room (#228) and (b) there was no tub. We hadn't asked for a tub, our mistake. My wife went to the front desk and found that they had no available rooms with tubs and this was a deal breaker for her. The manager on duty couldn't have been friendlier. He said that if we found somewhere by 11pm he wouldn't charge us for the night, they didn't want ANY dissatisfied customers. We quickly found somewhere else (unfortunately much more expensive) and quickly packed and moved.
That night I was taking off my shirt and realized that I'd left a valuable personal piece of jewelry (valuable to me and no-one else) at the Lord Paget during our rush move. I called the manager, he remembered us, took my phone number and said he'd check the room and call back. WIthin 5 minutes he called me back, told me that the item had JUST been brought in and arranged to store it until I came in the
next day.
While the Lord Paget itself wasn't for us, the manager, Jason Dugger,
was an awesome representative of the hotel and the Quality Inn chain!!!!
