My family and I made a reservation at the La Quinta because we had our dogs with us. Before arriving, I made a reservation and was given an incredible price for our rooms based on Government rates. Upon ariiving at the La Quinta, the General Manager refused to charge us the awesome price we were given by the La Quinta headquarters and said he was going to have to charge us $40.00 in addition to the price quoted. I told him that he was breeching a contract and he said to take it or leave it. We checked into our room at that point not knowing if any surrounding hotel would take pets or were even vacant. After we unpacked into the very tiny rooms (not recommended for families that need to set up cribs) we went out to lunch where I proceeded to call the La Quinta headquarters to complain. In the half an hour between checking into the hotel and calling the 800 number, the General Manager at the La Quinta in Williamsburg managed to erase our reservations so there was no evidence of the price we were originally quoted. This made me so mad that I left my family at lunch, drove across the street to a different hotel, asked if they accepted pets and if they had vacancy. Even though that hotel across the street cost $30.00 more, I booked 2 rooms there and we switched hotels within 2 hours of checking in. When I went to check out, the GM asked me in a very nasty tone why I was leaving, I looked him straight in the face and told him he was a "money hungry Liar."
