I booked this hotel through Go Williamsburg! at 1-800-446-9244. You can book either online or on the phone. I got a very good deal. The daily prices were very good and if you stayed 4 days, the 5th day was free! Well to get back to the hotel. This hotel is a simple, older-type 2 story hotel with each room opening outside. We were able to park right outside our room. Our room was a king bed, no smoking room with a refridgerator, microwave, and small table and chairs. The room was small and most things were in good shape. There was a small continental breakfast including, coffee, tea, juice, milk, cereal, toast, fruit, and donuts. The hotel also had a small pool which was nice on those hot days in June. Near the pool were some ugly/odd looking ducks that were fed by a nearby restaurant. They were not a problem and we enjoyed them a lot. The hotel was located very close to Colonial Willaimsburg and only a few miles from Busch Gardens. Our complaints with the room were that the carpet was old, dirty, and needed to be replaced. Another thing, they did not have king sized sheets for the bed. Queen size was used and always came off.

Basically, we would stay here again.

This motel seemed clean, but could'nt get passed the musty smell. Our room was also located right behind a roof extention that was full of nasty water. Located great for attractions.

“Very nice, pleasant stay”

We booked this motel through Expedia after reading reviews here on TripAdvisor, and it was wonderful. We stayed Friday, Sat, and Sunday nights in August 2006. We paid $72 for Fri and Sat nites, and $54. for Sunday night. Very attractive, well maintainted grounds and rooms, lots of flowers, small pool but very nice, rooms were pretty big, with new furniture, and had many amenities that larger more expensive hotels (Marriots, Westins) do not, such as ...
Free continental breakfast - included cereal, bananas, apples, doughnuts, toast, coffee, tea, juice
Sink outside the toilet/shower room
Nice low furniture which held 3 suitcases
Heat lamp in shower
Refrigerator and microwave in room
Hair dryer, coffee maker, iron and board, cable TV
Convenient parking right outside your room

Sharon in the main office is a gem ... kept the breakfast clean and well stocked, and was always there to cheerfully get whatever you needed.

About 10 mintues from Busch Gardens and Water Country USA, and about 5 minutes from downtown Williamsburg.

Eat at Pierce's Barbeque - it was wonderful!

Definitely stay here! It is a pleasure.

“Great place for the budget traveler!”

Econo Lodge Parkway / Historic Area

Mar 18, 2006
7/7 found this review helpful

As a budget traveler; I love clean, comfortable places - that don't make me feel like I had no other choices. Sure the layout of the property is more parking lot, than landscaping. But I was at Colonial Williamsburg from 9AM to 9 or 10PM, save for a quick trip back to my room for freshening and a meal nearby, before heading out again.

For the rate I paid on Mar17 I got a room that I was hoping for compared to my previous night at the Travel 8 on Second Street. The room was really clean! Furniture, while looking older, was in good repair, compared to the Travel 8 (there only nicks on the dining chairs). Not a single burn mark to be seen! Consistent lighting (not a mix of bulbs and florescent lighting) in the sleeping area. Bed was clean and firm. Rooms very quiet.

Staff really tried to make you feel feel special from the start! Continental breakfast was well stocked (though no fruit - but this was after Travel 8 having two bananas available <g>)

All in all, this is the type of place I want when I will be out for most - if not all - of the day. They are putting in a pool; but I have seen larger hot tubs. But if I want a pool, I'll stay at a more expensive property. This time, I wanted a place to rest my head after a long day, and to freshen up in the late afternoon. And this place made the grade for me.

(The excellent rating is for meeting my expectations for as I mentioned a couple of times - a place to sleep and to have a mid day refresh)

“Whole in the wall”

Some would say this motel has a wonderful veiw of a used car lot and the back of some offices. Problem is....We don't think it is wonderfull. We hoped we would have a nice stay in a decent motel, WRONG!

Do your homework before making reservations. I am a firm believer that you don't have to spend a lot of money to have a nice place, this just isn't the place.
