We checked accomodations in Colonial Williamsburg and none satisfied our budget nor taste. Having had a positive experience in another Comfort Inn we decided to look into it. Our room was
VERY reasonable and also included a continental breakfast.
This hotel is very close to the Visitor's Center for Colonial Williamsburg and also on the outskirts of the congestion of the actual town of Williamsburg. It is about a 3 minute car ride from the Comfort Inn to the Visitor's Center.. And from there, it is about a 5 minute shuttle bus ride or a 10 -15 minute leisurely and scenic walk to the historic property.
This hotel was very clean and our room opened up to the balcony that overlooked the pretty Colonial style lobby. There's an outdoor pool which our children enjoyed since it was quite hot and humid the week we stayed.
However, we did have a problem with regard to some lost items. First, my son realized on the way home that he left his cell phone at the hotel. We called the front desk and they found it. However, they told me I would have to give them a credit card number so they could mail it back to me and they couldn't even give me an idea as to how much this would cost! Obviously, I wasn't going to authorize this without knowing what it would cost me! So, we left it there and replaced the phone.
Then, upon arriving home, my younger child realized a beloved stuffed animal had been left in the room. Once again, I called the front desk. They told me it wasn't found. I find this hard to believe since it was large enough to have been seen by housekeeping when cleaning the room.l. I felt at this point they couldn't be bothered. I left my phone number and no one got back to me. A phone calling say it hadn't been found would have been a nice customer service touch! Further more, I recalled these experiences on a Comfort Inn email survey I received and requested that someone contact me. I never heard from anyone!
