Stopped in on a Saturday morning for breakfast. First, very limited breakfast menu: Eggs, breakfast meats, grits, biscuits & gravy, and pancakes. If you are not a breakfast person (my husband is not), you're limited to a garden salad. Second, the place cannot cook eggs! I asked for mine over medium; I got over easy. We watched as a customer at another table sent her eggs back to the kitchen b/c they were over easy. Third, when we mentioned the problem with the eggs to a woman who appeared to be an owner/manager, she immediately blamed the waitress for the order, saying she should have made sure the cook got the right order (or assumed that the waitress picked up the wrong order)! We actually suggested that the cook might need help with his egg cooking b/c of the problem at the other table. She later corrected the waitress in the middle of three tables (nicely, but the point is she stopped to correct the waitress in public). Our waitress was working hard on a busy morning and, in spite of returned dishes and management's poor attitude, our waitress managed to remain charming and efficient. Watching the way management handled this situation left a bad taste in our mouths and we could not get out of there fast enough. We will not be returning: Bacon and eggs are a dime a dozen in this town, and Chickahominy House has done nothing to distinguish itself.
