“We made a great discovery in Williamsburg.”

My wife and I have loved visiting Williamsburg since the mid-70s. We have tried many great restaurants over the years but have never found a better place to visit than the Aberdeen Barn. Our experience was excellent.

I'm not sure how we have missed it until now but I am certainly delighted that we made that our selection last night. I'll guarantee it will NOT be our last visit. We had no prior reservation and they were busy during the week-end following Valentines day, still they were kind enough to take us as a walk-in.

Every aspect of the meal was great. A warm attentive long-term staff, excellent food (there is a reason they specialize in prime rib) and a great casual atmosphere are sure to make it a great dining experience for you and your family.

We saw older couples, young couples with small children, groups of golfers and groups of ladies apparently in town to shop. Obviously, Aberdeen Barn is not a secret to anyone.

I can hardly wait to go back.

Negatives: When coming south on Richmond Road it is difficult to get to their parking lot. You have to beyond the restaurant and double-back. A minor inconvenience for a great meal. Also, I tend to like very hot horseradish and the horseradish served with my prime rib was a bit mild to my taste, but that is hardly even a blemish on a great experience.

Plus: There are several good hotels within a block. We stayed at SpringHill Suites, another good choice.

My husband and I dined at the Aberdeen Barn last night . This was our first visit. We travel and dine out frequently and have to say that this ranks in the top 5 restaurant experiences of all time. It is a comfortable, friendly atmosphere. The food and service were outstanding. My husband had the prime rib and I had the filet mignon. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and the garlic mashed potatoes were the best I've ever had. Our server Angelo was first rate. You could tell that he took great pride in his job and his relationship with the customers. The service alone was worth a trip there - ask for ANGELO!
We highly recommend this southern gem!

“Great Ribs and Filet”

My husband is a connoisseur of baby back ribs, and these passed the test. He was a little hesitant to try them since the sauce touts peaches and Southern Comfort, but both he and my mother-in-law were quite content with the entree. I had the filet mignon, which was very tender and cooked to a perfect medium rare, and the mashed red-skinned potatoes were a delicious complement. The wine prices were reasonable and there were a nice variety of desserts from which to choose.
