We loved Sal's - in fact, we loved it so much we ate there twice!
First, however, a big thank you to the person who posted a review saying it can be a little difficult to find. We passed it twice before we literally found it by accident. If you are on Richmond Road, just know that Sal's is just past Monticello Road and is in the corner of the shopping center (near Bloom's and a Hallmark store) on the west side of Richmond Road. But our perseverance paid off because this was definitely the place for great Italian food and pizza.
Before we left for Williamsburg, we looked up Sal's on the web and printed off their coupon for 10% off the price of dinner. If you fail to do this, they offer the same in the "Go Williamsburg" directory and magazine.
Sal's is like having dinner with your family. Many locals eat here and you can hear a lot of Italian spoken as well. It is informal, the service is friendly and efficient, the food is fabulous, and the prices are phenomenal. You will not get a better meal.
The pizza is great and the entrees melt in your mouth. In addition to pizza, we also had the veal parmesan and the manicotti. The desserts are works of art - DO NOT MISS THIS! Some restaurants are known for their desserts. Here is a restaurant that has lucious food and sets the same standard for their desserts.
The wine is very reasonable and good.
There are many choices in the Williamsburg area. You will do your stomach and your wallet a real favor by eating at Sal's.
