“Wonderful!!!!”

We dined at Sal's 3 times while visiting Williamsburg. I believe that some people are getting the 3 Sal's restaurants confused when posting comments. In reference to person that wrote the last comment I would just like to say that when you order anything that is fried and have it delivered or take it home to eat, it's NOT going to be crispy. Just a little FYI. The first visit we ordered a medium pizza which was large enough to feed 3-4 people easily and it was yummy! The second time I ordered the smoked chicken ravioli and it was awesome! My mom ordered the mannicotti and it was equally as well. The third time I ordered the Vodka penne and mom ordered the baked ziti (the meat sauce was very good). Each visit we spent 20 dollars or less for two people. The servers were very helpful and attentive. I will be back to see Sal.

“Surprisingly very good”

My family and I really enjoyed our dinner at Sal's. My kids shared a pizza, which they loved, just like home. My husband ordered the Seafood Thermadore. He liked it a lot, but couldn't finish it because he filled up on an appetizer of Mussels and bread. I ordered the Veal Victor (pan seared veal, artichoke hearts, roasted pepper strips in a light olive oil) and there wasn't a thing left on my plate. The dinners come with a side salad. The portions were just right. Not huge, and not small. Mine also came with a side of linguine.
Our waiter, wish I could remember his name, was attentive and very friendly.
The bill was very reasonable. At least $40 less than what we would usually pay for back in NY. That was a nice surprise!

I would recommend this restaurant, and would even suggest that the past poster who got there on a bad night, give it another try.

We got delivery from Sal's while in Williamsburg. The food was slightly below average sub shop Italian food - my local small town shops in Maryland are much better. I'm not sure who rated this place best in Williamsburg, but if it is, I feel sorry for the city.

My grandma and I ordered Gnocchi, which were balloon-like and had sauce that tasted like it was out of a can. We also got Eggplant Parmigiana, which was ok, but not crispy, with only a little cheese and barely any sauce. The salads that came with the meal were pretty good and had a nice peppercorn dressing.

It took nearly an hour and a half for the food to arrive, though we were told about 45 mins. The delivery guy was nice, and delivery as an option was convenient. It was also good that they threw in forks, knives and paper plates.

Overall, I was expecting really good casual Italian food and got something closer to mediocre fast food. We were disappointed.

“Worst restaurant in Williamsburg”

Whoever said this place is good must be insane. Maybe we just had a bad night, but nothing we had was good. The food was undercooked, and if they had taken the time to finish it maybe it wouldnt have been so horrible. I had Chicken Marsala, which was at least 10 minutes underdone and disgusting. It was by far the worst meal I had in Williamsburg and I really regret wasting my time and money. I would never recommend this place to anyone and hope you all avoid it.

“Sal's - just perfect!”

We loved Sal's - in fact, we loved it so much we ate there twice!

First, however, a big thank you to the person who posted a review saying it can be a little difficult to find. We passed it twice before we literally found it by accident. If you are on Richmond Road, just know that Sal's is just past Monticello Road and is in the corner of the shopping center (near Bloom's and a Hallmark store) on the west side of Richmond Road. But our perseverance paid off because this was definitely the place for great Italian food and pizza.

Before we left for Williamsburg, we looked up Sal's on the web and printed off their coupon for 10% off the price of dinner. If you fail to do this, they offer the same in the "Go Williamsburg" directory and magazine.

Sal's is like having dinner with your family. Many locals eat here and you can hear a lot of Italian spoken as well. It is informal, the service is friendly and efficient, the food is fabulous, and the prices are phenomenal. You will not get a better meal.

The pizza is great and the entrees melt in your mouth. In addition to pizza, we also had the veal parmesan and the manicotti. The desserts are works of art - DO NOT MISS THIS! Some restaurants are known for their desserts. Here is a restaurant that has lucious food and sets the same standard for their desserts.

The wine is very reasonable and good.

There are many choices in the Williamsburg area. You will do your stomach and your wallet a real favor by eating at Sal's.
