The menu was limited, the service fair. When we left, a time share guy accosted us in the parking lot, he would not take NO for an answer. I told my hubby to pull back into the lot, I was going to tell the hostess at Mama and Steve's the guy was 'bothering' their patrons as they left their restaurant. When I approached the hostess, she acted offended, and informed me that she knew he was there. She also told me he was supposed to leave if you said no. I told her he needed his hearing checked, he didnt hear No all 3 times we said it. The food is like Aunt Jemima's, not hot or pretty old restaurant not maintained that well. . Menu very limited. Not cute or quaint. Pass this by, go to IHOP.

There are so many choices for breakfast in Williamsburg, and instead of going with an old reliable like IHop, we thought we would try a local place instead. We went on a Sunday morning around 10, and the wait was fine and expected, only about 10-15 minutes. The atmosphere is cute and colonial, and the service was quick and efficient. To me, though, service is more than just getting the order right and getting me in and out of the restaurant in a timely manner. Our server didn't smile once and absolutely no greetings or goodbyes. The food was okay. The whole wheat pancakes were a bit too grainy and I only took one bite of the hashbrowns they were so bad. Next time I am in Williamsburg, I will be going to the old reliable.

I echo the complaints of others concerning adequate pancakes.

What had me back a 2nd time was the creamed chipped beef which i liked the first time BUT...

the 2nd time we were seated and waited 20 minutes and no waitress. We finally left. The indifferent hostess/cashier said something about being short a few waitresses. SHeesh, you'd think she could have warned us beforehand!

Also, this restaurant allows the TIME SHARE CROOKS to accost you as you're leaving. I just ignored the guy... but the nerve of the place to not serve, then have some goof ball bother you about giving you free tickets to Busch Gardens so long as you endure a 1 hr 'presentation' at the time share. Not for me or most others!

The atmosphere was cute and quaint, and the ladies were all warm and very nice; it kind of had the feel of something out of the 60's, which may be part compliment, part complaint.

Based on the other reviews, maybe I was expecting too much - the menu selection was very limited, the pancakes were just adequate, (think "Hungry Jack") and the syrup containers were, well, funky and sticky. Being strictly a pancake house, I was expecting more in the way of warm maple syrup, not "pancake" syrup out of a sticky container. And, to be honest, was really looking for a waffle ..

Ok, it wasn't "bad" - but I probably won't be going back.
