I am a "very long time visitor" of the Colonial Williamsburg area ... my first visit was in November 1969 ... and I come back every chance I get, which is either once every year or eighteen months (I live in Texas). The Bake Shop has a large selection of items ... Sally Lunn bread, cookies, gingerbread "cakes" (I call them cookies) ... and my favorite are the gingerbread cookies. I make a "bee-line" for the bakery as soon as I can so I can get some to help me "make it through the day" along with a glass of cider. I do this daily ... thank goodness with all the walking I don't gain any weight!! When I have to return home to Houston, I come away with 3 or 4 dozen of the gingerbread cookies as I've gotten some people at home "hooked" on them. I would highly recommend visiting this shop so you can relax and "people watch" while you are taking a break ... then you're set for the next thing to see on your long list of things to see and/or do!!
