We took the Washington State Ferry to this island, and we are so glad we did!
Once we arrived, we fretted on whether to rent a bike or walk. So glad we walked. It is slightly uphill (not strenous) and we made it there in a matter of minutes (under 5 minutes). Now "there" is not very big. Just a few shops, bakeries, etc... in the main walking area. There were several women's clothing stores - or maybe that was only because my radar is tuned into that! But mainly we enjoyed the quiet, relaxed atmosphere. There is a charming white wood church there. We sat across the street and ate a spring roll from the corner cafe and watched the parents pick up their kids from preschool. We dreamed of what it would be like to live on such a charming island. We've determined it must be paradise - especially during the summers.
