“Nothing "Deluxe" about this Extended Stay”

Extended Stay Deluxe Bothell

2 of 5 stars
Washington State
May 4, 2008

We've stayed at this hotel twice in the past 2 months (Hotwire.com). Now that I know it is the only 2.5 star hotel in the area on the Hotwire site, I won't be choosing it again. The rooms are very small and the front desk clerk wasn't helpful or knowledgable. He never did get back to me about a request I made at 5 pm. He did call me at 2am to ask if " you guys have taken the smoke alarm off the ceiling". Huh? I could hear an alarm going off on his end of the phone. He finally figured it out that he had called the wrong room (or something else). He just hung up without apologizing or explaining.
The carpet was in sad shape and the room was only about 2/3 of the size of the other Extended Stay Deluxe hotels I've stayed at. It didn't have an oven, just a small microwave (impossible to cook a frozen pizza we had bought). The room was absolutely claustraphobic when the sofa bed was opened. The bed was comfortable (queen size) and the breakfast was good (eggs, sausage, breads, cereals, juices, yogurt). Be aware that you need to supply your own shampoo, conditioner (they provide soap).

“Rock Hard Beds and More”

Extended Stay Deluxe Bothell

2 of 5 stars
Arlington, WA
Oct 28, 2007

I purchased our night through Hotwire who had this listed as 2.5 star. It was not up to what I would expect of that level. The room was small. I had a difficult time getting to the back side of the bed because the dresser/tv stand was in the way. There was less than a foot between the wall and bed edge and the same between the end of the bed and the stand. The bed was like a rock. I couldn't sleep in it. My back was killing me so I moved to the couch and slept propped up with throw pillows that had been on the bed. There were 2 small pillows on the bed, an extra in the closet was bigger, but it didn't have pillowcase. The curtains had large stains on them. The bathtub had mold growing where the base and wrap around met. We had to go to the front desk to get shampoo as we were only provided with soap in the room. Our bed squeeked really bad. Breakfast was OK. We had scrambled eggs, sausage, bagels. Cereals were also available. For drinks they had coffees, 2 juices, and tea. They had complimentary newspapers which was nice. It seemed reasonably quiet. I could hear footsteps from above during the night but that was pretty much it. This hotel is definitely set up more for the extended traveler such as bussinessmen. Rooms really are best for just 1 person. The staff was friendly. Location is good.

“pass on this one”

I would not stay here again. We had two rooms booked....both smelled of cleaner. My nose ran the entire time I was on the property. It would stop 15 minutes after we left. My daughters skin reacted to the carpets . I could not find bathroom shampoo in either room? The breakfast was ok. The pool was closed for repair when we stayed. Rooms were quiet and the bed was fine. There seem to be some long term guests here. All in all the place just seemed a little uncomfortable.

Fresh, clean, quiet. Good value. Free parking and wireless internet. Friendly front desk. Nicely appointed studio suites with kitchens fine for a couple but gets tight for 3 or 4 with the pull out couch. Reasonable light breakfast included. Located in a very secure and safe business complex right off 405 and an easy 15min. to Bellevue or 25min to downtown Seattle. (non-rush hour). Many eateries and shopping nearby.

“It's OK, but ...”

Extended Stay Deluxe Bothell

We found the Sierra Suites to be OK, but it didn't live up to our expectations. Specifically, with the sofa bed out, the room was extremely cramped. In addition, it was very clear that regular maintenance wasn't done on the HVAC equipment (the dust filter was moldy and there were numerous crumbs in the equipment). The management replaced the filter when asked.

Furthermore, on SierraSuites, the company clearly states that they will clean the room daily upon request. However, when you actually ask for this to be done, the management resists and wants to collect an extra $20 per day for this service.

We also found the exercise equipment to be in poor condition.
