My wife and I stayed at the Queen of the Valley Inn during the Skagit River Poetry Festival the weekend of May 19-20th. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this warm, cozy and comfortable B&B. Our hosts, Chris and Shelly Davis, made us feel completely at home from the very moment of our arrival, and they were ever gracious and accommodating throughout our stay. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and quite generous; the room large, quiet and homey; and the shower complete with soap, shampoo and conditioner dispenser! We had, at most, a ten minute drive to our various festival events in the charming town of La Conner, WA. We can hardly wait to return and visit La Conner and stay with our friends at the Queen of the Valley Inn.

Our stay at the Queen of the Valley Inn was excellent. Attention to detail was the focus. It seemed that the host was available when needed... and invisible when not. This 100 year old home has kept its old style warmth... and also has excellent modern shower facility and plumbing. Dispenser in the shower gives aromatic shampoo, shower gel and conditioner. Another bottle beside the sink gives hand sanitizer... excellent idea! Breakfast was a masterpiece... delicious coffee, fruit smoothies to start, then strawberry french toast one morning, and spinach frittata the other. Perfect!
On a final note.. the sprig of lilac on our beside table was a wonderful touch. Small, inobtrusive, yet it shared a light scent with the room, over the whole weekend.

We decided to spend a quieter New Year's Eve than normal. We met some wonderful people visiting the area and our hosts were extremely accomodating. The house is wonderfully charming with an old world feel, to say nothing of the comfort of their bed. To top off our visit we were welcomed into the new year with a delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs with lobster and fresh tyhme. (people asked why the eggs were so yellow and our hosts said they come fresh each day from across the street) The breakfast was started with small pancakes that were mixed with ricotta cheese for a light texture and a fresh, warm fruit compote. We will be going back.

After reading the two reviews on this site, we were hesitant to call this B and B but we really wanted to get away for the weekend (just getting out of town in winter to anywhere is a treat the Pacific N.W.) and we had many people recommend La Conner. Well, when I called, I found that the Rainbow Inn Bed & Breakfast had new owners and that they'd renamed it the Queen of the Valley Inn. They are exceptionally warm and hospitable, the food was "to die for" incredibly good, the beds were better than we could ever afford at home, the decor exquisite and the sense of luxury and pampering unequaled!!! I really did feel like a queen and Jason slept like a baby again! Three thumbs up! (Oh, and La Conner was everything I'd heard, charming, friendly, hospitable, beautiful harbor, good food and GREAT little shops!) I'd recommend this place to everyone!
