This property has the typical Best Western type rooms, but also offered thru this property are 2 bedroom condo/vacation rentals. We were with a big group so we decided to go this route. The condo we had was nicely decorated with flat panel screens in each room, along with a fireplace, washer and dryer and full kitchen. The unit was clean and neat and fairly new.

The property has a pool which was fairly dirty, and a jaccuzzi. Next to the pool is a basketball half court.

This property is good for families with younger children as there is an amusement center with an arcade, movie theater, stage play theatre and 18 hole putt putt course pretty much on the property.

The main village of Leavenworth is a 10 to 15 minute walk. Lot of little touristy shops and restaurants, nothing special. We had a nice dinner at Cafe Christa, a little german restaurant, there wasn't anything on the menu not to recommend, the food and desserts were top notch. Beers were excellent.

We were basically there with friends for a white water rafting trip which met up in Cashmere. The proximity was pretty good, maybe about a 15 to 20 minute drive. If you do decide to go white water rafting go with Blue Sky Outfitters, they seemed to look a little better than the others and the guides seemed more knowledgeable.

Overall the hotel is pretty good, liked the location as it was away from the crazyness of the main village, lots of things for kids, and the unit we had was clean and comfy. For us it worked out as there is nothing as nice in Wenatchee that could compare.

Would I stay here if I was in the area again? Yes.

My wife and I have been using the Icicle Best Western Inn for about 15 years. We hold three marriage seminars every year at this facility, and have used other facilities in the Leavenworth area as well, but Icicle Inn is our first choice. Why do we keep going back to the Icicle Inn?

First, because of the service. Hands down, the quality of service we and our guests have consistently received is warm, friendly and caring. We have always felt the personal attention given to our seminar guests is all about taking care of their needs and making us comfortable. Their staff (from front-desk personnel to housekeeping to management) has always, without exception, treated us with respect and care. We have also been very impressed by the fact that the employees are long-term!! There is not a high turnover rate like many other facilities in the industry. It is obvious to us that the owners and management care not only about the guests, but about their employees. Employees talk highly about their employer and we, as long-term customers, receive the benefits of a well-run organization, because the employees take personal ownership of quality service.

The second reason we keep going back is the cleanliness and continual up-grading to provide the best quality facility for the price. The Icicle has a variety of rooms available and the whole complex gives you a relaxed feeling, combined with the high-quality craftsmanship and a Bavarian environment that highlights the European ambience of the Village of Leavenworth. One of our team members is a high-end home construction builder and he is always impressed with the attention to detail that the owners of the Icicle continue to put into their facility.

The third reason is the big variety of amenities available. We think the Icicle Inn offers the best variety of activities in the village of Leavenworth. If you go to their web page you will be able to scan the wide variety of activities and services available for children, singles, and family members of all ages. There is not another facility in Leavenworth that provides this kind of variety for the family. Our seminar guests rave to us about the quality of the facilities and how the Icicle Inn compliments the relaxed, easy-going environment that is truly family friendly. We know that many of our couples (from all over the Pacific Northwest) return and bring their familiies back!

My wife and I have also held two 100-member family reunions at the Icicle Inn. Again, we just love it because it not only offers the services we need, but also provides a wide variety of activities for different age members of our family. We keep going back because for the money - - - the service, the food, the quality facility with a big variety of activities are just plain hard to beat. And we plan on holding one there again in 2010.

We have tried and tested this facility for years and find it to be consistent in high quality. We have not been disappointed in 15 years. Check it out. We know you will be pleased with what you get.

Stayed the weekend of June 5-8, 2008. Found the hotel to be farther away from center of town than expected. There is a trolley but it seems to run sporadically. This would be a great place if you had older children that needed activities. We are a middle-aged couple and it was not a good fit for us. Best part was the cleanliness, no complaints there. Our room had 2 queen beds and was quite small. View was of the side parking lot. Bathroom was small and you had stand next to the toilet to be able to open the bathroom door all the way. Plenty of towels and glasses provided. The breakfast buffet was disappointing. It is advertised as a European style breakfast but I have had breakfast in Europe and it was not like that. The meats were regular deli cuts of turkey(!), salami, ham. The bread selection consisted of tiny muffins, bagels, and sliced white bread, no croissants or crusty bread. You make your own waffles which takes 2 minutes at one of 3 waffle makers. In other words when there is a line it can take 15 minutes to get your waffle. I read the newspaper faithfully every morning so when I went to the lobby to get one imagine my surprise when I was told they don't have any newspapers. You have to go across the street, which is a highway, to a shop to get a newspaper. We won't stay here again until we have older grandchildren that can enjoy the amenities.

My husband and I have 3 kids between us and we were went over to Leavenworth to get married. We went on our own and left the kids with my sister. It was the second wedding for both of us, so the wedding and honeymoon were all about us this time. We got to stay longer than at most hotels because the Icicle Inn always has getaway specials, so we got some extras and spent less than we would have normally and got to spend one more day there than if we were to stay at another hotel in town for the same price. Which in turn meant we could spend more money on going out to all the restaurants and shops in town. We stayed in the bottom floor fireplace/jacuzzi/king suite and it was quite large. The bed was extremely comfortable and there were plenty of towels and 8 pillows on the bed! I'm 5'11 and my husband is 6'4" and we could both fit into the jacuzzi tub. We had to put our legs over each other, but we did it and I think they have the instant hot water attached to the tub b/c the tub was HOT! The decor of the room is your usual hotel style, but very very clean. The view from our room was a beautiful mountain and the pool. This wasn't too noisy as it wasn't summer, so there weren't a lot of kids there. We could hear kids running up and down the hallway, but it was limited and kids gotta have fun too :)
The breakfast was a good buffet consisting of make your own waffles..D'LISH, various toasts and breads, yogurt, cereal, fruit, biscuits and gravy...also good, coffee, juice etc. The staff was very friendly and accommodating no matter how busy it got there. There is complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the lobby at all hours, a massage spa, outdoor pool and hot tub, movie theater, game hall, mini golf, restaurant and bbq area on site. The place is great! And also one of the only places that does Christmas dinner, and Leavenworth in XMAS is like walking into a north pole snow globe.
