“Pleasant accomodations in the middle of WA”

Best Western Lake Inn & Conference Center

4 of 5 stars
Minneapolis, MN
Nov 18, 2008

I stayed at the Best Western Lake Inn & Conference Center for two nights in mid-October on my way to and from a college football game in Pullman, WA. Due to a tight travel schedule and last-minute flight scheduling, I had to fly into Seattle (5.5hours from Pullman) in the evening and opted to stay halfway, at Moses Lake. I found the hotel on Google Maps and decided to give it a try. Overall I was satisfied, it slightly exceeded expectations and offered a pleasant stay on both nights.

My room was large and felt comfortable. The accommodations were slightly outdated, but I didn't expect them to be. The room had a balcony and view of the lake --pleasant, but I left both morning just after dawn so I couldn't really enjoy it. The hotel staff was polite and courteous.

The breakfast is nothing dazzling, but has some solid choices that varied on both days: they included, pancakes, sausages, waffles, biscuits & gravy. I can't complain about any of them, and it was a welcome inclusion with the room rate. The dinner I had was fairly good --nothing spectacular (which I would never expect in area), but not bad either. Service was good in the evening.

I cannot speak for what this hotel is like for vacationers in the Moses Lake area, but for a person going cross country its a pleasant stay. I believe this was the off-season, so the hotel didn't appear to be too busy.

Overall the service and convenience made this hotel a good stopover. I felt I took a slight risk in booking it for both nights, especially after reading a few negative reviews on TripAdvisor --but in the end I would consider staying there again.

Recommended.

“Nice View, Nice Room, Noisy Ice Maker”

Best Western Lake Inn & Conference Center

2 of 5 stars
Seattle, Washington
Aug 25, 2008

My husband and I stayed here recently. We were given an upgrade to a room with a balcony and a view of the lake without being charged for it. That was a nice suprise. The room was clean and nice...the usual Best Western standard. The only problem was that we were near the ice machine which made a constant humming noise all night. That didn't bother me, but it might some. What did bother me were the folks that were filling up their coolers with ice at 6 am. They were a little noisy. If you stay here tell them you do not want to be near the ice machines.

“Older, Nice View, Uncomfortable beds and pretty expensive”

Best Western Lake Inn & Conference Center

3 of 5 stars
Washington State
Aug 18, 2008

Average, Average, Average. Staff was generally friendly, especially housekeeping. They did make a mistake in our reservation but ended up treating us very fairly, giving us our final night for free since we had to move to a lower quality room.
Only about half the rooms have balconies/decks so be sure you ask for one if you want one. The dock is convienent to the motel and moorage is free for guests. View of the lake is excellent but the lake is not all that picturesque. Freeway noise only noticible if you leave the windows open.
The beds are very hard and have that horrible wire rim that hurts your legs if you sit on the edge. We are spoiled by our pillowtop mattress at home and ended up with slight back aches each morning. They do have the nice curved shower curtain rods that help make the shower seem larger.
Pool is small but clean and has lots of seating. The hot tub was more a luke warm tub. There is a wonderful city owned water park just down the road that is much more preferable. Be sure and take a picnic hamper and chairs with you as the chairs fill up fast.
Overall, this was about what we expected for an older motel along the freeway. The room prices seemed a little inflated but the motel seemed fairly full so it must be working for them.

Bad food bad service and bad drinks. Food made my daughter and I very sick and no one returned a phone call ever. Stay away from this place no one tried to make any part of dinner enjoyable.

“Do Not Stay Here”

This was the worst hotel we've ever stayed at! The beds were like rocks as were the pillows. The bedspread was covered in some sort of powder substance and the maid was very upset that we asked her to change out the bedding. She was even more upset that we asked her to remove the moldy food left over from a previous guest from the fridge. The housekeeping staff was VERY rude.

For some reason every lamp in the room was unplugged so we walked into a dark room - except for the bathroom light. T

he front desk staff was even worse - especially Joy (here name is not descriptive of her at all). She refused to correct any issues we had.
The free breakfast was runny oatmeal and day old pastries.

They don't offer late check outs.

Others traveling with us got the Suite - they were very surprised to see the bathtub in the middle of the livingroom.

I've traveled all over the world and stayed in many hotels and this by far was the worst thing I've experiences. I would have been better off at Motel 6.
