We spent 4 nights in a 1 bedroom ocean front unit (#333) and the experience exceeded expectations. Kaapa is a great location for those wanting to travel to the north and south shores, it is close to the airport and there are many shops, restaurants and grocery stores in the area.

The complex is beautiful. The grounds are perfect and the landscaping is lush. We enjoyed the early mornings down by the pool before heading out to see the sights. Some people have recommended staying in building 5 but we found building 3 to be the best. The view is across the cove with a great background of green hills. We went to about every beach on the island and the view from our balcony was the best of all.

The condo had everything one could need. The decor is a little dated but the furniture and bed were comfortable. Daily maid service was very nice. The units aren't air conditioned though and it did take a few hours for the bedroom to cool to a comfortable level at night but the sound of the surf made up for it.

All in all: highly recommended.

“Really Liked this Condo”

My husband and I stayed here three nights. I believe we were in unit 5345 (building 5, 3rd floor, up the last stairwell, unit on the left), an ocean-front 1-bedroom, 1.5 bath. Building 5 is away from the pool and parking lot and feels remote, if you want some peace.

A high quality condo, the decor was very nice, although the bedroom furniture was a bit beachy in style (not our fave but we were at the beach--it's unavoidable). Comfortable King bed.

The master bath was warm as it got no airflow, but not a huge deal.

There was really nowhere to hang your wet suits and towels to dry, since it's not allowed on the lanai (and lack of airflow in the bathroom).

I wish we'd stayed longer and could've utilized the living space and spacious kitchen more.

It was a little warm (even in low season) as there were not as many constant breezes as on Maui (and no air conditioning). We opened every window in the place to maximize the cross breezes. The bedroom is on the side away from the water, so less breezy. But it was comfortable (3 degrees cooler would have been great).

Nice lanai with a great view and felt private, the only drawback being we were on the east side so no sunset. Beautiful landscaping.

The only thing that requires me to give the Lae Nani a 4 is the way sound travels through the place. I seem to remember someone else saying that the walls are thin. But I think it's actually an air flow thing--the breezes carrying sound. You get sounds coming in the bedroom windows that seem to be coming from other units, the stairwell, ground level, etc.

Oh, and they're doing construction across Papaloa Rd. so you get construction noise in the morning, but not before 9am, If I remember correctly. Don't know when this construction will be done but they've just started. Not a huge issue, just be aware of it.

I would definitely come back here. It was comfortable and fairly luxurious.

“EXCELLANT! Would go back and will recommend to friends!”

Outrigger at Lae Nani

We stayed 5 nights at the Lae Nani during the first week of May. We booked through Outrigger. After doing a lot of research for condo's on the island, we decided to go with Lae Nani (mostly because of all the good reviews here). We were assigned condo #124. What an excellant location!!!! From our living room/ dining room/ and kitchen you can see the ocean and hear the waves crashing. It's sooooooooo relaxing!! We were very close to the pool and I was a little worried about the noise, but it wasn't a problem at all. The condo was a great size (1 bedroom, 1 & 1/2 bath). The ONLY negative I can say about this place is the decorating, it's a bit out of date, quite a bit! It appeared that all the condo's are decorated differently, probably because they are individually owned.

It is close to the Coconut Marketplace, which is also WAY out of date and with about a 60% occupancy rate. We walked over there for ice cream one night at Lapperts (high prices). On Wednesdays they have a free Hula show. It was wonderful! Those girls really put on a nice show (free). The were selling flower lei's for $5.00 to help support the Hula school (a good bargain).

We saw Monk seals on the shore outside our condo almost every morning - make sure you keep your distance from them.

If we had the money, I would buy a condo here. I think it's a great location and I'd love to go back, often!

“Clean and Luxurious”

Outrigger at Lae Nani

This place is great! It's pricey but you will definitely enjoy your stay! Right by the famous Coconuts Marketplace.
Also, it's high end so you'll have all the luxuries you desire!

“Will return to this condo.”

Outrigger at Lae Nani

4 of 5 stars
La Puente, California
Apr 21, 2008

My husband treated me to a trip to Kapaa for my birthday/Valentine's Day/ Graduation gift. After reading about several condos, we decided on Outrigger at Lae Nani.

Upon arrival, we were greeted very warmly. Our unit was exactly what we wanted! We had full ocean veiw on the ground floor. The beach was only abour 70 paces away from our back door. The unit was clean and the grounds were well kept. Every worker there was very nice. The laundry room was clean.

The bonus was that the condos were within walking distance to shopping and eating at the Coconut Marketplace. One morning we even called in a take-out order from Eggbert's and my hubby went walking to pick it up while I cooked a few extra things to go with our pancakes.

Our favorite spot was the rock pool right near the swimming pool. I loved going in there and swimming with the fish. The beaches were all pretty quite even on the weekend.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the condos.
