We stayed at the Hotel Hana for three nights during our honeymoon. I don't quite understand the other reviews, except to say that there are amazing views and the property is well-manicured. This place is like a fancy summer camp, but not that fancy. The rooms are infested with bugs. They actually give you a can of Raid in the closet. The rooms are sparse and are not air conditioned (our room was hot the first night). Our room had fixtures encrusted with dirt, damaged bathroom tiles, loud pipes, peeling paint on the lanai, and was very dark even with all of the lights on. The wood shutters had a faint mildew smell. The staff is not overly friendly or helpful, for the most part. They did not seem responsive to our concerns. We chose this hotel because it was supposed to be quiet and peaceful, but many of the rooms are right next to the Hana community center, which was filled with screaming children and loud music. It is worth spending at least a night in Hana because the near-by sights are great, but I would recommend checking out another inn or resort. The Hotel Hana Maui is overpriced and over-hyped.
