“Location great/dated interior”

Maui Parkshore

2 of 5 stars
wisconsin
Apr 3, 2008

The location and view from the lanai were wonderful. The actual condo was very dated, I am sure it still had all original paint, cupboards, wall coverings and much of the furniture from the early 70s. The mirrored wall in the bathroom was a bit of a shock. We could have overlooked that, if the cleaning crew had done a better job. All ceiling fans, exhaust fans were very dirty and the dirt was moved to the walls and curtains/drapes.
After the place is flipped, I would rent it again in a heartbeat.

“Parkshore for me”

Maui Parkshore

I stayed at the Parkshore in early November in a top floor unit
on the pool corner near the street where the road noise was
the greatest and was the only drawback in the stay for the 1st
2 days. A 10 minute walk will get you to anywhere needed for
food, beaches etc., or the bus stops are outside the door for $2
is the best valyue for seeing the Real Kihei and Wailea[?] It is amongst the VERY best there is in Hawai'i without a doubt.
I paid $200 Aussie per night and was far more spacious and
equiped than the Banyan and a few others I saw. Also there was
no livestock in the beds and was far more sound proof between
rooms due to the thick brick walls. The ice maker in the large
refrigerator made enough ice for an everyday banquet. Yes,I
would go back to the same unit in preference to the others
and that includes the OVER rated Sheraton which is 2X the price for 0000 extra than this quality bargain which had everything
that I could possibly want. A few hours at Wailea shows the best
of Maui and is a pleasure to be there.. Good luck..NoelinOz

“Grounds Keeeper needs to light up.”

Maui Parkshore

We just spent 7 days at the Maui Parkshore> For the most part it was very pleasant. There were a few things that were kind of strange. The beds were very uncomfortable. Out of the 3 ceiling fans in our condo only 1 worked otherwise the condo was well furnished.
If you go and arrive late in the day you should call and get the code for the key box so you can get your keys because the office closes at 5:00..
They have a grounds keeper that takes his job way to serious. Our second night there we started BBQ some steaks at 8:45 pm and we did not see the tiny sign that said the BBQ area closed at 9:00 pm, at exactly 9:00 the grounds keeper appeared and did not even give us a warning he just went over and shut off the gas to the grills and locked them up and turned out the lights. So we pulled our half cooked steaks and finished cooking them in our condo.. They also pad lock the pool at 9:00.
for the most part our stay was ok But the grounds keeper Jeff needs to lighten up a little.

“Love Mauiparkshore”

We've stayed at Mauiparkshore for the last 20 years. We love it here. It is away from all the busy tourist hotels and usually is nice and quiet. The location is excellent, it is right across from the beach and within walking distance of lots of restaurants and shops. The full kitchen makes it easy to make food and you don't have to worry about always going out to eat, instead you can just relax in the spacious 2 bedroom aparments.

“Beware the Road Noise”

Maui Parkshore

3 of 5 stars
West Palm Beach, FL

We stayed at the Maui Park Shore condo for 7 nights and we wanted out after the second. The problem was that we were in a 4th floor unit right next to the road. There is no air conditioning, nor is any needed as long as you keep the windows and lanai door open for ventillation. Kehei road is a busy road all hours of the day and night, so if you are a light sleeper, what you will hear is not the sound of the waves, but the sound of cars and trucks driving by, many with their radios blasting. Unfortunately, with it being peak season, Oihana Property Management gave a quick "nothing we can do to help" and blew us off.
What we learned: if you are going on vacation in Hawaii to be on the ocean, find a place that doesn't have a road between you and the beach. We moved up to Kaanapali for four days and had an awesome condo for the same price right on the ocean where we were able to watch whales all day. What a difference. Make sure you know exactly what you are getting before you go, because if you are not happy, you may be stuck with it.
