We stayed for 3 days and were delighted ! We got a warm welcome by Sherry, the owner, who greeted us with a flower and a bowl of fruit to celebrate our wedding anniversary !
We had the Gardenia Suite, which was decorated with very good taste , i enjoyed the art on the walls too, and it was amazingly confortable .
The pool area was wonderful (see pictures) , and it was very quiet while we were there. The grill and the bar were a nice touch too , there were chairs & beach stuff at our disposal ,which was very practical . The wireless was also very useful and worked fine. The Aloha Pualani has to be the best hotel in Maui !!
My last words to Sherry were : " Mahalo ! we will be back this summer for a longer vacation " !

A little gem among all the giant hotel chains. Felt nice to be in a small boutique feeling place instead of one of the big hotels that can have up to 1200 rooms.
We stayed in the Lotus suite-
Beautiful 2 level space living area/kitchen on 1st level bedroom on 2nd level. Off the bedroom there are 2 little exterior balcony sitting spaces on both sides of the room which lets a beautiful tropical breeze through the room. Spotless clean modern furnishings.

We went during US Thanksgiving and thought we would have trouble booking but all the suites were available 1 week prior to our departure. We were given a private key entry code prior to coming so arrival time was flexible. Actually we didn't see the owner at all during our stay but we had everything we needed.

the grounds are beautiful the ocean is right across the street ( we could see and hear the waves from our window.) There is a beautiful clean glass tile pool, loungy area with use of a bar and bbq and little fountains and fish everywhere with tropical plants on all the walkways.

The only flaw was the A/C was a little bit moldy smelling when we turned it on but the weather was so beautiful we didn't need to use it.

We booked our stay for a week over Christmas mostly due to the recommendations on TripAdvisor. What a joy! A perfect location to explore the whole island and a wonderful hostess in Sherry who welcomed us with friendship. During our week she hosted TWO receptions with food and drink for the guests and we had a great time meeting people from the US and Canada.
We stayed in the beautiful and huge White Ginger Suite, (formerly her apartment), which is fully and tastefully equipped including a sunset view lanai overlooking the ocean. How sweet is that?

We explored the whole island including the packed and crazy 5 star hotels. We couldn't wait to get back to the calm and quiet Aloha Pualani.

This beautiful boutique hotel is just so unbelievable that you do not want to leave! We stayed for 3 nights but I would have liked to stay for 3 years... We had the lotus suite which was corgeous all the way, spotless, comfortable and tasty. And fully equipped for a perfect get away. The nice saline pool is just outside the door.

Kihei in it-self is not that spectacular, but as it is Maui, everything is just a short drive away so it is not a problem at all. We went to the Big Beach alot which was my favorite beach of all beaches in Maui. Also do not forget to take the Molokini snorkling trip from Malea which is close to the Aloha Pualani.

Thank you Sherry for a perfect ending to our California-Arizona-Utah-Nevada-Hawaii US road trip. I hope we can come back soon. We loved the comfortable carpet at the lotus suite so much that we we got home, we went and bought a similar one to our livingroom! :)

“Great for honeymooners”

We stayed at the Aloha Pualani for our second half of our honeymoon (first half was in Ko Olina, Oahu). Everything you read in the previous reviews is accurate. We stayed in the new White Ginger suite, and like a previous poster I was worried about staying somewhere site-unseen (there were no pictures of it on their website prior to our stay). The suite was absolutely beautiful. Full-featured kitchen, spacious "living room", nicely appointed bedroom and bathroom, and a really great lanai area overlooking the Pacific. I don't see how any of the other lanais could beat the viewpoint of the White Ginger Suite.

Being our second leg of a 12-day trip, we spent most of our time in Maui relaxing. We had done the snorkeling, parasailing, and other touristy stuff on Oahu. We did take advantage of Sherry's free equipment that is available, mostly the bodyboards. We tried going to a few spots along the coast with bigger surf, but never had much luck doing any real bodyboarding. I enjoyed just going to the ocean right in front of the hotel in the afternoon (extremely windy) and playing in the waves there.

The last night that we were there Sherry hosted a wine and cracker party by the pool, and most of the guests showed up and mingled. It was surprising for my wife and I, because we hadn't seen anybody else all week! Sherry was helpful and friendly throughout our stay. It's nice to stay somewhere that you can tell the owner cares, and Sherry seems to really care about her hotel and its customers.

Oh, and they have free wireless Internet and free parking. Worth over $30 / night in Oahu.

There's a reason this place is #1 in Maui. The price is extremely reasonable, our suite was beautiful, there are free "beach toys" to play with, and on and on. And there are no kids. So this is truly the perfect place for a honeymoon, anniversary, or otherwise romantic getaway.

P.S. PLEASE read the reviews about Hana before you make the trip. It is the most polarizing experience on Maui. Everybody will recommend it, but read the reviews and be honest with yourself about what you're looking for.
