We spent 4 nights here in the middle of a 2-week trip in Hawaii. It reminded me of the old-school roadside motor lodges we used to stay in when I was a kid. The room was OK, certainly nothing special. There was good and bad to be found. The bed was hard as a rock, and the bathroom had a funky smell. On the other hand, we had a kitchen in our room, which was clean and well-stocked with cooking supplies. That was very convenient, especially on days when we left early or got back late from day trips. It was also very convenient to have laundry on-site. Eddie, the host/manager, was friendly and helpful in planning our days. He gave lots of little tips and pointers, how to get to places at the best times, avoid crowds, etc. We had a nice conversation with another couple at one point but otherwise didn't see much of the other guests, although there were a few sketchy-looking characters (as there always are in places like this, so we weren't surprised or particularly bothered by it).

The best part of staying here was the location. It was perfectly located to suit all of the things we wanted to do - the Hana highway, the beaches in Makena, Haleakala. You really couldn't be in a better part of the island to get around easily to all the highlights.

I don't think I'd stay here again but for what we paid, we were fine with it.

“Ideal location, friendly and helpful staff”

We enjoyed 3 days in Kihei at the Sunseeker at the end of January. Michael and Eddie could not have been nicer or more helpful and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. We loved the garden view, and the peace and quiet. The free internet computer was a bonus when planning trips- easy to use and super fast. There are several places on the grounds to enjoy a drink and read, or visit with your neighbors (a nice mix of women and men, all friendly). The hotel is across the street from the beach, but we never had trouble crossing over, and the sunsets from the beach were beautiful. We saw whales every day passing by! This part of Kihei is better for walking, not swimming, since the water isn't nearly as pretty as it is further south. But it is easy and enjoyable to walk north for a good long trek along the golden sand for exercise or just peaceful reflection. The hotel is only about 20 minutes from the airport, and close to adventures south in Makena and north to Lahaina.

My partner and I had a picture perfect time on the breathtaking isle of Maui, thanks in part to our very comfortable accommodations at the Maui Sunseeker. Not only is the Sunseeker conveniently located and refreshingly free of young children, the staff were flawlessly efficient and filled with the aloha spirit.

We were very impressed with the recommendations of the knowledgeable concierge service. But the highlight for me was the rooftop deck, complete with relaxing jacuzzi and a starlit shower. Next time we come to Maui we are definitely coming back to the Sunseeker.

The Maui Sunseeker is a faboulous place to stay in Maui. The junior suites are spacious, clean, fully equiped kitchen and provide all the ammenities for a relaxing vacation. Michael and Eddie were wonderful in pointing out the best beaches, attractions and restaurants. The Sunseeker have beautiful gardens, gazebo area and grills to utilize. The roof top provides gorgeous views of the ocean, hot tub and free computer use. The hotel is very centrally located to all areas of the island. We had a great time and will return to the Sunseeker for another stay. Thanks for everything Michael and Eddie. J & C Idaho.

“Sunseeker nice place to relax.”

We needed a quick vacation and had not been to Maui before. We booked Maui Sunseeker via their website and got a good rate, not cheap, but good. Eddie and Michael were very good with emails and helping us arrange any excursions in advance we needed.
There were major rains and flood damage to the island the week before we arrived, in fact our room, #104, was under 2" of water and mud. But we were assured that everything would be OK when we arrived and indeed it was. There were signs of the flooding all over but the Sunseeker was spotless!
The room was smaller than the pics made it look but very comfortable with a full kitchen and living room. The shower was small and I wish it was bigger so two couldv't fit for romance...oh well. But 104 has a lovely lanai in the back with a nice garden to overlook during morning coffee or evening drinks.
There is no pool (really could use one where the garden is) but there is a large, clothing optional jacuzzi on an upper deck where the sunsets can't be beat!
Several people said Eddie gives amazing massages, but we didn't have time.
I have included several pics of our room and the property. There is a BBQ area with two grills and a nice gazebo to have dinner in (you cook of course)
Oh, if you go to Maui make sure you try Cafe Ole in Kihei, the Ahi stuffed calamari is not to be missed!
