“Fantastic Grounds, crummy dirty outdated rooms”

Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa

2 of 5 stars
California

The grounds are fantastic.....but they have NO parking for guest, you have to use Valet parking because they have a Luau every night which takes up all parking. The room we stayed in had very dirty stained carpet, a loud pump that ran all day right outside our lani, so we could not use, but yet they billed us for a room upgrade, because we had a partial ocean view. The staff was very nice, but they nickle and dime you for everything....Would not stay here again, not as advertised, 5 star No WAY, maybe a 2+ star for the rooms.....This was our first trip to Maui and we were very disappointed with our room, to get out of the shower, you have to crawl over the toilet. My bathroom at home is much nicer.....

We stayed at the Hyatt for our honeymoon and had an amazing time! The hotel staff couldn't have been nicer and we were upgraded from a terrace view room to a partial ocean view room. The location, atmosphere and pools were the best on Kaanapali! Great food too!

“Great hotel”

Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa

Stayed one night during spring break at the Hyatt and it was fabulous. They upgraded our room, so I'm a bit biased -we had a fabulous corner ocean-front room on the club floor and I highly recommend this option - the breakfast and snacks on the club level are great and make life really easy when you have kids with you. The hotel is really nice - lots of wildlife and lots of private nooks and areas to "get away" from everyone. The pool is incredible, though it is so chopped up, that it is hard when you have kids because you easily and quickly lose sight of them. Chairs were not a big problem though - there were plenty and we were able to find chairs even in the middle of the day. The staff were all fabulous - clearly very well-trained and nice. The rooms were very nicely done - even had a dock for the I-pod!!! The one down side is that this hotel is at the end of the hotel row and thus a huge walk to get to anything else, but the staff were really helpful and one of them drove us over to Whaler's Village when we just had missed the shuttle - total service - he even said to call and he'd come get us if we missed the shuttle back! I highly recommend this hotel.

“Best hotel in Maui - location and service”

Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa

5 of 5 stars

While staying at the Hyatt Regency Maui, we experienced some of the best hospitality in a long time. Everyone made us feel welcomed and it definitely had the Hawaiian feel to it. The location is great on the Kaanapali beach close to downtown Lahaina and great restaurants. I loved waking up every morning watching the flamingos get fed while gazing over the beautiful Pacific Ocean!!! They have great pools with a water slide and a mall inside the hotel including a Macy's. They also had plenty of restaurant choices to choose from. I would highly recommend this hotel to all visitors. The rooms were very large and accommodating with balcony views. The beds were also very comfortable. There is nothing better than hearing the sounds of the ocean while lying in bed.

    • Disliked — you have to pay $9.99 fro Wifi access

“LOVE this tropical resort!”

We've stayed at this hotel 4 times...every time we come to Maui this is the only place we will stay! It is trully all you could want in one of the best places on earth! We had our honeymoon in Wailea at the Fairmont - and still like this place better. We found this place from a co. trip of my husband's (after our honeymoon) and it's definetly the best! The location is the best on the island - Wailea is beautiful also, but the best weather is here in Ka'anapali - it can get cloudy and rain more in Wailea, and up where the Ritz is too. We checked out the spa at the Ritz, and still like everything about the Hyatt the best. If you like to spa, you must go - if even to just hang out in the relaxation room after your massage or facial...words just can not describe how any stress you may have felt on the mainland will literally melt away instantly. The rooms here are fantastic - the bed just envelopes you like no other... you can walk to the shops down the beach - there's an entire outdoor mall with restaurants - Leilani's is my favorite - the Opaka is to die for... You will never want to leave this paradise - all the pictures posted are perfect for showing you what the reviews leave out. You can not go wrong at the Hyatt in Maui! I've already booked our next trip for Nov. 08 - Can't Wait!!
