“Don't Stay Here!”

Outrigger Maui Eldorado

This Condo Complex was built in 1969 - only some of the units have been updated. If you must stay here - insist on a renoed unit. Ours leaked water from the ceiling, the bath/shower wouldn't drain, carpet smelled moldy, couldn't talk when the dishwasher was on, balcony drapes kept falling off. K-111.
Housekeeping dropped by every day - usually forgot to leave any coffee. You can't function here without a rental car and they charge $7 a day to park it - very little sense of customer service at this facility. The only thing the Eldorado has going for it that it's quiet - not much street noise. There are many alternatives in this price range and I would recommend taking just about anything else.

“Great Time!”

Outrigger Maui Eldorado

The condo is ideal for a family. We had a nice room overlooking the pool. Saucy and Wayne arranged several tours for us and we enjoyed each one. We saw dolphins, sea turtles, coral and fish when we went snorkeling(Gemini). The luau had lots of traditional island food and lots of it (Feast of Lele) as well as overlooking the water with a sunset. A helicopter tour was my husband's favourite-I was a little green (Sunshine ). We could walk to the beach and cabana-the best part was it was not overly crowded. Whaler's Village is within walking distance and can be reached on a trolley ride. We had an amazing lunch and dinner at Ma'alaea Grill (outside the aquarium).
The condo was quiet and it was clean. Thanks, hope to be back.

“The resort is average if anything”

Outrigger Maui Eldorado

We stayed at the Maui Outrigger Eldorado in 2005 as well and it was average then. I don't understand how these people rate their rooms. They rated K112 as 4 star -yeah right - I don't think so. Maybe 3 star but more likely 2.5 star.
If you have kids, this is an ok place to stay. Everything worked and we used the kitchen to make a lot of meals but this place needs updating in a big, bad way.
Oh and we asked for our room to have a door so that we could shut the door on the bedroom when the kids went to sleep. Not sure what was so hard about comprehending that but we didn't get a door to the bedroom so we listened to our twin 1 year old boys scream themselves to sleep. Good times.
The pools are ok - not very busy. The beach is great when there's no torrential rain storms going on.
Whaler's Village is close enough to walk to, which is nice and Lahaina is a quick drive.
The location is great but many of the rooms need to be rennovated. My husband's parents stayed in K200 and although it is a large suite, it needs to be rennovated as well.

We booked our condo unit #K205 through Vacation Rentals By Owner (VRBO) and it was everything we had hoped. There is not much of a view from the room but we knew that. The location right in Kaanapali ensures that all of the night life of Lahaina is just a couple of miles away. The last time we were in Maui, we stayed in Kihei and found ourselves driving to Lahaina quite a bit to see the nightlife. Our condo was huge and so clean. Tile floor throughout keeps cleanup to a minimum. The only critisicm I would have is that the Maui Eldorado doesn't seem to recycle. I was separating my beverage containers and then I would see the maid put them in the trash. I'm sure that someone would take them out of the trash along the way because Maui does have a beverage container refund system in place. Other than that, the grounds were beautiful, location was awesome, the beach is spectacular (no weeds, rocks, or strong current), the staff is very friendly, their was never any noise from the road, gardeners, builders, etc. before 7. We were always up early so that didn't matter. All in all, I would give it a 9 out of 10. Thank you Barbara. (K205)

“Great deal in a great location. Wonderful stay!”

Outrigger Maui Eldorado

We're just wrapping up an almost week-long stay here and have been extremely pleased with our choice. Our studio with garden view looks just like the pictures on the Outrigger site. Spacious. Not particularly modern or luxurious, but quite comfortable. Sufficient parking ... never had trouble getting a spot in the little lot near our room.

The location is terrific. Walking distance to Whaler's Village, but not down in the noisier part of Kaanapali. Very quiet up here. We are in the far end (C building), but even then it's only a 5-10 minute walk to the Eldorado's beach cabana. Fantastic having access to that! Found out today you have to pay in other locations on the beach just to sit on a chair! Crazy. The cabana has lounge chairs, towels, bathroom, full kitchen.

I would have given it five stars, but the housekeeping was a little odd. First day, it looked like someone got distracted mid-way, leaving a stack of five washclothes on the counter, not-needed second Kleenex box on the counter and additional toiletries thrown haphazardly into the basket, emptying of one trash bin but not others. Then one day, an overwhelming number of towels on the racks, the next day, spartan number. Yesterday, we were gone all day and came back at almost 4 to find it hadn't been cleaned yet. They showed at 4 and we just said to skip that day.

That said, it was a pretty minor situation and didn't detract from us enjoying our stay. I'd highly recommend this place for the value. Great bargain in a pricey location.

Also nice having the restaurants and gym across the street. Very convenient. CJ's Diner is great for any meal. Had breakfast and dinner there and both were very good. Great when you don't have reservations anywhere and just want a tasty, casual meal.
