“Quiet Value Lodging near Kaanapali Beach”

Outrigger Maui Eldorado

We had a five night wonderful stay at the Maui Eldorado. The condo was large and very nicely appointed. The grounds were well maintained. The location was convenient yet away from the tourist hustle. At night, it was quiet and peaceful.

I thought the condo was a good value. We paid approximately $100 per night less than if we were on a resort directly on the beach. However, be aware, it is a long walk to the beach. We were in Building C and it was a HIKE to the beach. There is a beach cabana with facilities and a refrigerator, so once you are down there, it is nice. The beach there is quiet and beautiful.

The pool near our condo was small…enough for an afternoon splash but that’s about it. The condo itself was nice. It was clean large and quiet. The resort is a true CONDO – no restaurants or bars. It’s strictly BYO everything.

“Great Place to enjoy Maui”

We have stayed at the Maui El Dorado every year since 1989 - we spent 6 1/2 weeks there is 1998. Just got back in July from another trip there.

It's NOT the Westin (Thankfully). So if you are expecting a resort with $20 glasses of wine - it's not your place.

It's comfortable and quiet. Easy walk to the cabana and Whaler's Village and Kaanapali Beach.

We've always had wonderful serivce and great rooms!

I spent last weekend in Waikiki and it really made me miss the Maui El Dorado!!

“The worst ever!”

This place is absolutely disgusting. We booked it for a week and ended up checking out the second day. The list of wrongs is a long one: the rooms had black mold growing in them (law suit waiting to happen), the units had terrible smells as well. The pool makes the YMCA look like the Four Seasons and not to mention there was a dead and decomposing rat on the pool deck. The staff had not cleaned the grounds in ages it seems and the person that helped us with our bags actually threw an empty bottle of shampoo onto the ground and drove away. Please, do not book your stay here, they cost us a whole day of our vacation because we called every hotel on the island practically to get another room. It is dreadful!!!!!

“Would not rent this unit again!”

We stayed at the Maui Eldordao June 26th thru July 3rd, 2007. We rented unit K104 through VRBO. The floors in this unit were filthy, our feet turned black if we walked barefoot. One of the showers leaked and flooded the floor every time it was used. The mattresses are sagging, fixtures and furniture are not in very good shape. The kitchen was decent, except the bottom shelf in the fridge is completely missing.

We enjoyed the resort itself. The location is convenient. The beach and cabana are very nice. I would stay here again, just not in this particular unit.

We stayed at the El Dorado (http://www.vrbo.com/75882) from May 28 to June 2, 2007 on our honeymoon.
We wanted to stay on the Ka'anapali Beach and wanted to save money as well.
I do not regret our stay at the El Dorado; it is very close to all the resorts on the Ka'anapali Beach.
We actually loved the beach the El Dorado was on. On one occasion we saw tuna and turtles swimming there. They have a very nice cabana on the beach.
This is not a place to stay if you want to be pampered or luxury. This is a very nice and quiet place to stay. This studio has all the amenities of home. I would recommend this place to a couple that wants to be on one of the most desired beaches and likes to save money.
