This is the kind of place I love, but my wife doesn't. On the plus side, it's located right in the middle of one of the best beaches on Maui. There is a nice amount of open space, in contrast to most of the hotels/condo complexes in the area. The rooms are basic with one double bed, a twin bed/sofa, and a kitchen with full-size fridge, stove and microwave. The rooms all have a balcony or patio with a table and chairs as well. Our second-floor, garden-view unit (#223) had a nice view of the ocean (see the pictures I posted). They serve a nice continental breakfast in the Ohana room, which also has a TV and free wireless internet. There is a coin-op laundry room too, which came in very handy. And all of this for only $110 a night.
If you are used to staying in fancy hotels with all the modern luxuries, this place is not likely to impress you (or your wife, as I found out). But if you appreciate falling to sleep to the sounds of the ocean, rather than the hum of an air conditioner and your neighbor's TV, this bargain could be for you. I should add that after being there for two nights, my wife started to appreciate the Mauian a lot more
