Many things... LOVE LOVE LOVE the HEAVENLY beds and truly recieved some
of the best sleep of my life. (its terrible but two days i stayed in bed and didnt even go enjoy the beautiful hawaiian weather because the beds were just too comfortable!) I also really enjoyed the onsite Spa. The massage I recieved ranks up there with one of the best of my life. The pool area is very crowded but thankfully if you dont have children, there is a designated "adult pool". One experience i was specifically
overwhelmed and grateful for was the generosity of the staff members on my
last day. My beach bag was stolen pool side
while I was walking on the beach at sunset. Various hotel employees were
more then generous and kind in helping me. Security looked everywhere and got me in touch with the police. The manager on duty helped me check out
without my physical credit card on me, as well as gave me an airport
voucher as I did not and could not recieve and cash in time to leave on my
flight. Keisha, my waitress by the pool was a GREAT listening ear,
extremely empathetic and made my last day by the pool feel so welcoming -
consistently checking on me as well as comping my meal because again, I
was without funds and couldn't do anything about it until I reached the
mainland. This is a beautiful (yet crowded like all the kaanapali) hotels on Kaanapali beach - but it is one of the most beautiful and the geneousity and aloha spirit of the staff really impacted my trip and made a huge difference.

“Fantastic Vacation”

Hotel has beautiful grounds and very roomy suites. The kids loved the slide and the adults loved the cabanas and the beautiful ocean views. Food and service was great. Employees were friendly and helpful at all times. We stayed the weeks the airlines went out of business and the hotel was very accommodating, they even credited one of our nights.

This was a fantastic place to stay. The property is beautiful. The staff are friendly. Absolutely no pressure to do anything. There is a boardwalk that runs across the entire bay in front of all of the hotels, their restaurants, and a small shopping center. The lobby alone is amazing. Every time you come or go from your room, you walk through this open space with a huge waterfall, fish, swans and flamingos.

I normally write longer reviews but this hotel seems to already be gathering pages of positive marks.

Some cautionary notes - it is kid friendly and there are many children there. It was noticeable but not annoying if you aren't enthusiastic about kids - the Westin Maui Luau is not worth it, this was one of the very few let downs I experienced - it can be tough to get a lounge chair by the pool.

If I ever return to Maui, I have no reason not to stay at the Westin Maui again. If you go, you will LOVE it.

“Westin --Great place for Kids”

Westin Maui Resort And Spa

May 12, 2008

I had read previous reviews and was very concerned regarding room size, misc hotel charges and food issues but I have to say our experience was GREAT. We traveled with a 4 and 8 year old and stayed in the beach tower in an ocean facing room. The room was nice size, not too small. Ours had two queen beds with a small sofa. This is a great hotel for kids. The kids program is awesome with different things to do each day so you can pick which day you put your kids in the program depending on what activities their are interested in. There are no words to describe the pool. My kids would have been happy to have spent all 6 days poolside by the waterslide. The food was spendy but it is Hawaii. Meals were slightly cheaper down the path at the Whaler's village restaurants. At times, it was more convenient to just 'bite the bullet' and pay the $25 breakfast buffet at the westin. Kids under 5 do get their meal free per paying adult and kids under 12 pay half the adult price, so this does take the 'edge' off :) !! The staff were very accomodating with everything from concierge questions to having to have engineering come to re-set our safe after our 4-yr old messed up the code. The spa was outstanding. I found the facility to be very clean and accomodating. Overall, we would definitely go back to the Westin.

“Fabulous resort”

Westin Maui Resort And Spa

I would highly recommend a stay at the Westin Resort in Maui.
The grounds were beautiful with waterfalls, black and white swans, pink pelicans and lush tropical plants. The hotel staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and helped us plan our stay with very pertinent information. The location of this resort is excellent where you can snorkel at Black Rock, walk on the beach, run on nearby trails or golf not far from the hotel. The rooms have been updated and are very clean and well kept. The food at the restaurants on location is good if you choose to eat there and are convenient if pressed for time. We loved this hotel and would not hesitate to stay there again!!
