“Paradise for two”

Hale Mahina Beach Resort

May 5, 2008

We spent April 19-26 at Hale Mahina. We had unit B303 and it was beautiful, just done over and in immaculate shape. It is a one bedroom unit and as mentioned before in other reviews the bedroom is in the back of the unit and very noisy from street and divided highway traffic. Because you need to leave the louvers open for air, I could actually hear snoring from another unit! Many guests were not polite enough to be quiet when they returned home late so that was a problem. That being said, the front of the condo has wonderful, fabulous views of Molokai in the morning and very quiet and relaxing. We are in our late fifties so the rules did not bother us. I would not see this condo as a place for a family.
Location is excellent, Maui is a terrific place for many adventures.

Four of us stayed at the Hale Mahina from April 16 to April 25, 2008. We had a top floor unit in bldg B (I think it was B, when you pull into the parking lot it is on the right side). Our unit was perfect, it was 2 bedrooms, one in the back of the unit and one upstairs in a loft with a second bathroom. The view from the lanai was unbelievable. It was so relaxing in the morning to sit out there and drink your coffee and then in the evening to have a few drinks and watch the whales right out in front.
The pool area was beyond clean, the property manager is out every morning and evening to make sure everything is put away in its proper place and cleaned. The pool does close kind of early (9:30 I believe) but we were usually ready for bed by 10:30 anyways!
My only complaint would be the noise in the back bedrooms. The traffic going by is kind of loud and the garbage truck in the morning sounded like it was coming into our room! My husband and I just happened to have earplugs with us which we used after the first night and that helped a ton.

“A202 is Paradise”

We stayed in A202 Hale Mahina Condo twice and would never go to the Hawiian Islands and stay anywhere else. This visit we were married on the private beach just outside the condo. As you walk into this beautiful condo, you can see straight through to the ocean through the oversized glass slider door to the lanai. It is so close to the ocean, you can hear the waves at night as you sleep. To sit on the lanai in the morning over Kona coffee is an instant de-stresser and a great way to start your day. You can sit there in the morning and watch the whales through the naked eye. The condo itself is beautiful and immaculate. The kitchen is completely modern with granite counters, stainless steel appliances and I could go on and on. Book directly through the owners as they are awesome people and know a great deal about the island. The complex is very well maintained with a sparkling pool and very warm jacuzzi which we used every night. If you want the most romatic week possible, I would recommend this condo. IT'S GREAT.

We recently stayed at hale mahia beach resort, we made the mistake of booking through one of the larger rental companies, While we were there I learned that you can actually book through some of the owners. And the units that are privately rented seemed to be much nicer then the larger company rented ones. None the less the stay was amazing. The amenities were fantastic, the pool was clean as can be and the beach was within steps from the condo.,, not to mention the bbqs and the nice grass lounging area. In fact we were fortunate enough to be at the resort during a young couples wedding on March 31st. It was absolutely gorgeous I even cried. The had someone blow the conch shell and a musician playing the guitar for part and the flute, I only wish I had his name! my fiancé and I were so inspired by this wedding we decided that ours will be there! We asked around trying to get information on who had planned this beautiful wedding. We found out that it was actually a lady who owns unit A202! Her name is Jackie Pizinger. I was given her contact info by someone in the wedding party. I just had to e mail her as soon as my foot touched the mainland. and better yet, I had the opportunity to take a quick look at the unit it was amazing! there was no comparison to the unit that we had stayed in. Hands down this unit was the most luxurious that I have ever seen I have already started talking about reserving that unit for my wedding and I can't wait to be the one that everyone is admiring from their balconies!

“Our family Christmas Vacation was a disaster!!”

Hale Mahina Beach Resort

Apr 16, 2008

Our entire family of 12, 6 adults and 6 kids(ages 11-19) eagerly awaited our 7 day vacation in Maui!!! We booked through Maui Holidays and Glen raved about the Hale Mahina. We were never warned that the property managers at the resort, DID NOT WANT CHILDREN THERE!!! From the moment we arrived, we were harassed and told to be quiet. Even when we were just enjoying dinner on the Lanai and the children were inside watching TV! We were threatened with eviction, unjustly accused of using foul language, and constantly felt we were walking on egg shells.

I later learned from another employee of Chasen Rainbows, that similar things had happened and she did not recommend the resort to anyone with children. If our party had been all adults, we likely would have had a wonderful time but the property managers made the week a nightmare for our 6 lovely granddaughters - all of whom are VERY well behaved and have NEVER caused a problem! The adults, have rented condos in Oceanside Ca for over 8 years and have never once had a complaint on their behavior!!

When push came to shove - our travel agent did not support us with our problem with the property manager, although he was the first to say that the property managers "had it in for us before we arrived!"

Our advice - if you are a family -NEVER think about staying at the Hale Mahina!! Also, the Aloha spirit that we knew in Maui in 1988 is DEAD. The residents no longer are friendly nor care about the tourists.
