The Holiday Inn on Walden is currently being updated. We found the rooms to be very clean and comfortable. Many things from the bedding to the carpet as well as the sink fixtures seem to be brand new. Rooms are average size, snug for a family of four. Maid service was efficient, and left extra soap and shampoo without request. Smooth check-in, check-out. Only complaints I have is that the only pool is indoors and heated. The water was so warm that my husband noted that even the water in the jacuzzi was cooler than the pool water! Not what you want in Texas in July! Also, we were unfortunate enough to be staying during a weekend when this hotel was hosting 20 year high school reunions. These seemed to be taking place in the lobby area rather than in a conference room. Even though we were on the fourth floor, we had a difficult time getting to sleep because of the noise our first night there. Overall, I would stay again, just make sure there are no late night functions being hosted!

I stayed at this Holiday Inn on April 15th on a business trip. I really loved the hotel and the friendliness of the front desk trainer. The room was very comfortable, clean & roomy. All the bedding seemed new, due to a recent/currently remodel. I slept like I was at home on the comfortable firm yet soft bedding. I would recommend this hotel to everyone and look forward to being a guest there again soon.

Stayed here on a business trip.. water leaks throughout hotel and elevator. Too much chlorine in the swimming pool and whirlpool bath. Pool too small. Restaurant has really good food and is very clean. Overall a noisy hotel with a lot of rambunctious activity including some questionable activities. Front desk personnel apathetic. Horrible mattresses - they said they were pillowtop but they were way too thin. Movies $12.00!!! Right off of 69 near I10 and way too noisy from the outside due to 69 traffic and too noisy inside due to guests activity. Only complmentary coffee but not even a continental breakfast. Only one computer for guest use downstairs but it does have internet service. Shuttle only goes to the Southeast Texas Regional Airport in Beaumont - not to the Houston airport (except if you beg).

We stay at this Plaza every Christmas for one week when we return home for the holidays. The rooms are clean, the staff friendly, food good, and an excellent little lobby pub.The staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home. Not a resort hotel by any means... but a great place to rest your head.
