“Great City Hotel - Location, Energy, Extra Touches”

Jurys Boston Hotel

4 of 5 stars
new york, ny
Jul 7, 2008

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel over the weekend. This is one of the few times when I had nothing to do with the selection of the hotel (my boyfriend did the leg work) and I was pleased with nearly everything! The hotel room was in impeccable shape and we loved the free bottles of Poland Spring we received each time the room was cleaned, the chocolates at night, and the dual headed shower. The towels were bath-sized and fluffy, the bed was super comfortable and filled with soft pillows and blankets, and the hairdryer came with extra attachments (not necessary, just a nice touch). My only complaint was that the bathroom had a frosted door, which isn't wonderful for privacy. There is a very active bar downstairs (locals love it for happy hour) but you wouldn't know it upstairs. The location puts you in walking distance to Back Bay (where hotel is located), Newbury, the parks, etc. Highly recommend for a fun city stay!

“Best hotel ever!!!”

Jurys Boston Hotel

Jul 5, 2008

Just back from a fantastic 7 night stay at Jurys Boston. One of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in where we were treated like royalty from the moment of arrival Got a fantasic deal with Expedia as we got 30% off because we stayed more than 5 nights.
Our room was a double superior on the 6th floor.Gorgeous bathrobes,L'Occitane products and turndown service each night. We had breakfast in their restaurant each morning where a buffet was available for $18.I had an omelette each morning as well as fresh fruit and cereal which could be ordered from the server.Delicious!!
I was really impressed with the complimentary use of the internet in their business centre,We stayed for 3 nights in a Hotel in Cambridge before checking into Jurys where it cost $5 for each 15 minutes use.
The staff at the front desk were always so friendly and helpful especially Joanne who was so kind to our little boy.She sent him up milk and treats one evening.Such a lovely gesture.
I can highly recommend Jurys for a fantastic stay.Enjoy the pampering!!We'll be back!

“Like this hotel but.”

We first stayed at this hotel two years ago, when we have a very comfortable room with a large bathroom, so we were really looking forward to our return visit. However, the first room we were given was tiny with an overpowering smell of mould, so we asked for another room. This didn't smell but was even smaller than the first room with a tiny bathroom, which should have been checked before being allocated to us because the bed hadn't finished being made up and there was only one bathrobe in the bathroom. These things were rectified after we mentioned it but as we had paid £135. a night we felt let down and disappointed especially as it was such a small room. Also it would be nice to have some way of making a hot drink in the room Even so we would return to this hotel again because of the friendly and helpful staff, the central position in Boston and the relaxed atmosphere there. We especially liked the Il Barrista coffee shop which was excellent value.

“Great Place to Stay”

Jurys Boston Hotel

From checking in to checking out I cannot fault Jury's Boston. All of the staff were professional, very friendly and basically couldn't do enough to help. Our room on the 8th floor, was clean, quiet and very comfortable. We were never without clean fresh towels and the toiletries provided were absolutley gorgeous. At turndown more fresh towels and a chocolate for each guest. The hotel is only a short walk from Boston Common, Theatreland and from an indoor shopping mall and out door shops. If you like a great steak I would recommend going to Grill 23 just across the road from Jurys where I had the best steak ever.

“Not Quite There Yet (5 Star)”

Jurys Boston Hotel

We had a corner premier room (320) for a three night weekend stay in Boston. Got a substantial discount from Orbitz, at least over what was posted on the hotel website. Jury's was a good value for the discounted rate, but I would have expected better for the rack rate. The corner room was nice, but did not have a flat screen TV or ergonomic chair as advertised on Orbitz.

Service was always provided with a friendly smile, but there were some kinks here and there. Follow through by the staff was not always there for requests. Despite the reservation having been made for two, the room didn't seem fully prepared for two...for example, there was only one bathrobe, one bar of soap, and insufficient towels (at least for us). Turn down service in the evening provided fresh ice and chocolates.

My partner didn't care for the frosted glass on the bathroom door, as light from my late night forays kept her awake.

We liked the barista in the lobby for morning coffee and muffins... very good. Unfortunately, they were closed Monday morning, so I had to deal with Dunkin' Donuts' lines. Free local (Boston Globe) and NY papers were available each morning in the lobby...a nice touch.

As with most fancy hotels, there was no coffee maker in the room, and no vending machines in the halls.

This hotel is in a great location...just blocks from the Arlington and Back Bay T stations, as well as the Theatre District and the Public Gardens.

Jury's is trying hard to be a five star hotel, but isn't there yet.

P.S. Don't miss a delicious dinner at Giacomo's on Columbus Ave. This site (unlike the one in the North End) does take reservations, but both are cash only. Best halibut I've ever had.
