I won this 3* hotel through Priceline for a rate of $62/night. I stayed one night in March 2008. This hotel is located off of I-15 in Rancho Bernardo. We have no problem finding the hotel and check-in was easy and fast. We were assigned a room in bldg 16. It is a little bit of a walk from the parking lot, but it wasn't too bad. We had a room on the second floor. It was big and spacious with a king bed. There were three sinks in the room. One inside the bathroom along with the toilet and bathtub. Another is outside of the bathroom. There is a sink in the bedroom area as well with plenty of counterspace along with a coffee machine.

The hotel is about a 20-30 minute drive from the airport and about a 20 minute drive to the Wild Animal Park. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, especially at the great price I got through Priceline.

The hotel grounds, including the golf course and outdoor pool area are spacious, clean, and beautiful; many rooms have small balconies that overlook. We chose this hotel for the golfing convenience, the course was nice. While visiting SanDiego and staying in a different hotel we also visited the Zoo, SeaWorld, and local vineyards. This hotel is pretty close to the Wild Animal Park and a few vineyards (which offer tours and wine tasting's), and it worked out nice to switch to this hotel toward the end of our week in SanDiego, to be closer to these. The rooms were clean and beds were extremely comfortable, a nice bonus was the two vanities and sinks. The pool and hot tub were relaxing and warm, which was much appreciated during this unusally cold, frosty & snowy February day in SanDiego. The front desk staff and other hotel staff were friendly, not high on the knowlegeable/helpful factor...but nice. Since it was so cold we were looking for indoor alternate options for fun, and hotel staff seriously had no concept of how to help. Luckily for us, it warmed up the next day. This hotel is pretty much off the beaten path, there is a restaurant onsite and room service, but for alternate options plan to drive for restaurants and entertainment. Overall it's a very nice place to stay for a few nights, and even better when you get a good rate.

This is a great hotel - much more resort-like than your average Doubletree. Of course because it is a Doubletree, you'll get the Sweet Dreams bed (and thus an incredible nights sleep) and warm chocolate chip cookies!

My room was spotless, had a balcony with a great view and free wireless Internet. The furniture was in extremely good condition, looking almost brand new.

The hotel's grounds and golf course are very well kept, and the pool is large, clean and bathed in shade from palm trees.

I did not eat or drink in the hotel so cannot comment on the quality of the restaurant or bar. The room service menu was however quite reasonably priced.

This really is a nice hotel, and I would recommend that anybody visiting the area stays here. Note that the hotel isn't really near San Diego (it's 15-20 miles out), so if visiting to tour the city you probably would find the location inconvenient. For somebody touring the mountains or the coast though, it's great.

When I checked in late at night Justin at the front desk was very accomodating to my family and I. The staff at the bar was very attentive. They keep a full glass of beer in front of me every time which was great.

Overall my stay at Doubletree Golf Resort of San Diego was a great stay. I had a very nice view from my room of the pool and the golf course which I had specifically requested and I must say that the beds are the most comfortable of any hotel!
