“Loved it!!!!”

Radisson Suite Hotel Rancho Bernardo

5 of 5 stars
Fairfield, California
Sep 23, 2007

My daughter and I stayed in a lovely suite on the 31st of August 2007. Absolutely no complaints. Great reception at the front desk, complimentary cocktail at nite and a very nice pool and surroundings. We found the room to be clean and the beds very comforable. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to anyone who would need a place to stay in the area. We had spent the day at the Wildlife Park(during a very uncomfortable heat wave) and drove only about 5 or 10 minutes to the Hotel. We ate out for dinner at Claim Jumpers. It was delicious! We had a great stay here at the Radisson, you will too!

“How disappointing!”

Radisson Suite Hotel Rancho Bernardo

Aug 29, 2007

"How disappointing!" Those were my first words when we entered our room at this hotel. The room was dark, dated, and the bedspreads were weirdly iridescent and tacky. Calling this room a "suite" is quite a stretch. It was somewhat bigger than the average hotel room with a sofa bed and a sink/fridge/minibar. Hardly a suite. The mattresses were quite old and just comfortable enough to sleep on. When was the last time you saw black mattresses with a bright floral print? Oddly, beneath the weird bedspreads were down comforters in white cotton duvet covers. You'd think they would dump the bedspreads and go with the duvets as many upscale hotels are doing.

I selected this hotel and their "junior suite" because we were traveling with my mother-in-law and would have five people in the room. Once we brought in our luggage, we had minimal walking space. I was very disappointed.

After a long day visiting the sights of San Diego, I was so looking forward to returning to a fresh, clean room. However, we were again disappointed when we discovered that the maid service had completely skipped our room! When I called the Front Desk, Kimmy apologized but we were never contacted by a manager or anyone else.

If you're in the mood to watch TV, there were not that many channels to choose from, compared with other hotels we've stayed at. There is free wi-fi, and that was a nice bonus.

This hotel is located near several office buildings and seems to cater to the business crowd. Breakfast costs $7 unless you are with a group who has a contract with the hotel. That is how it was explained to me. On the other hand, each adult gets a free cocktail between 5 and 10 p.m.! Never heard of that before.

In summary, we would never return to this hotel nor would we recommend it to anyone.

“Great experience!”

Radisson Suite Hotel Rancho Bernardo

We just returned from a 4 night stay at the Radisson Rancho Bernardo in San Diego. The staff was courteous, rooms clean, breakfast was good as well as the evening cocktails. Traveling with 2 young kids is never easy, so after the first night my mother requested another room and was given a great rate. No complaints at all!!! I would return to this hotel, just wish it was closer to the city.

“Wonderful stay for my parents”

My parents chose this hotel through Expedia. I called the staff early in the day to obtain directions and asked if they could take very good care of my parents because traveling is very hard on my mother. The staff was wonderful! They upgraded the room and took excellant care of my parents. The pool is enclosed in the center of the hotel, which made things safe for my kids to take a swim with their grandparents. The hotel is located in a quiet area of RB, which made it peaceful. They have a beautiful lobby. It is a short drive to the 15 freeway, which makes it a very convenient location.

“Spacious Room”

I stayed here for an out-of-town wedding. I was very happy with the size of the suite and the comfortable, nicely upholstered couch. The room had a mini fridge and microwave, which were very convenient. The TV rotated so that it could be watched from either the bed or the couch, and the channel selection was not bad. There was a DVD player in the room--too bad I never thought to bring my own movies!

I did not like the much-touted Sleep Number bed very much--I didn't think it was very comfortable regardless of what number setting I put it on.

The breakfast was just okay. Slightly better than the average hotel breakfast, but nothing to write home about.

I enjoyed using the outdoor hot tub, but found the pool to be pretty crowded with parents and young children. The hotel is not the quietest in the world due to the courtyard setup with a pool in the middle. I wouldn't go here if you're looking to get away from it all because it isn't quiet or peaceful enough for that.
