We loved our stay at this HI Express! The staff was extremely courteous, the proximity to Sea World fantastic, and the rooms really spacious, clean, and modern. The two-day-for-the-price-of-one Sea World tickets were a big plus. There is a supermarket across the road and bus stops very close to the hotel which is handy to go into & out of town and to Sea World. The "high speed" internet connection in the rooms was very slow and hard to get on but they do have a computer with high speed for public use in the lobby, which served us well for getting directions places or finding restauants. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it.

We wanted to be close to Pacific Beach so this was nice for us (Pacific Beach about 1-2 miles away) Parking is tight, but we did fine with our Expedition. Pool is small and crowded with travelers in the summer, but kids didn't mind. It is up on a hill, so it might be tough to find at first.

My wife and I stayed at the HI Express (Sea World) for two night before flying home and were not impressed. The street that the hotel was on had a great deal of old broken down motorhomes on it so the first impression was not so good. The front dest staff was not very helpful for us. They must have left two trainees at the desk because when we asked for some advise to get to a resturant the woman simply said in her best english "sorry I don't know", and handed us a tour book that was from1990. The first morning that we stayed there my wife complained about some bumps on her ankles which multiplied the second morning and upon return to Toronto our doctor diagnosed flea bites. Maybe not from that room but we were bite free for nearly 2 weeks before. I would not go back to this particular HI Express. We stayed a quite a few on our trip and this was the worst. Lot's of loud running in the halls all night too and a bit of a smokey smell in the halls. On the bright side the bathroom was really big and lots of water pressure and it was close to the airport.

I won't spend my money here again. Small parking spaces. The front desk messed up and charged my credit card again for a room that was already "advanced purchased". They blamed my credit card company for their mistake! The rooms were basic and the food choices were small. I have stayed at many Holiday Inn Express's and this one wasn't good.
