My wife and I stayed in New Orleans from October 4 - 7, 2007. It was our 1 year anniversary and we had wished to take a special trip to a fun city like New Orleans.
Kudos to proprietors John Crew and Gil Rome of the Marigny Manor House located on N. Rampart Street just a few short blocks from the French Quarter. Built in the mid-19th century in the Greek revival style, the Marigny Manor House was warm and inviting. Twelve-foot ceilings abound with rich and intricate crown moldings in every room. There is a quaint courtyard garden for guests to enjoy. The breakfasts are healthy and delectable, with plenty of fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts, croissants and jam. In addition, John and Gil were extremely courteous and helpful to my wife and I, particularly in giving us tips on sightseeing in New Orleans and in telling us about the history and even current affairs of the city. Best of all, my wife and I were able to walk to the French Quarter or to enjoy live rhythm and blues or jazz on nearby Frenchman Street; the Garden District and famous Magazine Street are just a short cab ride away.
My wife and I plan on visiting New Orleans again. And, of course, when we return, we'll plan on lodging once again at the Marigny Manor House!
