If you ever want to experience the true feeling of living in the French Quarters of New Orleans, the SAINT PHILIP is the place to stay. The Spanish wrought iron balconies, beautiful courtyard&fountain and the charming apartments with a full kitchen with all amanities you would need is the perfect place. Craig, the owner, is a perfect Southern Gentlemen as he truly makes you feel welcome the moment you enter through the wrought iron gate to the Courtyard. The apartments are very safe, clean and comfortable and are tastefully doctorated with high cielings and French doors to the entrance of the aparments and balcony.
The locations of the SAINT PHILIP is perfect. You will not need a car as everyplace you would want to go is in walking distance. To the left one block away is the Mississippi River, Decature Street shops, Restaurants and Flea Market, to the right is Royal Street with is beatiful Art Gallaries and Antique Shops and two blocks aways you will find the exciting night life of Bourbon Street. The best restaurants in New Orleans are withine 5 blocks or less from the St. Philip: Brennans, Antoines, K-Paul's Cajun Kitchen, Emril's NOLA, and Galatoire's. The Historical St. Louis Cathedral is only three blocks aways and you can walk to get a taste of the famous New Orleans Begnets at the CafeduMonde and a Muffaletta at Central Grocery. ALso, if you are there during the Mardi Gras season, just walk up to Canal Street to see the greatest show on earth.
We always stay at the SAINT PHILIP for at least 3 months or more while doing business and visiting with relatives. I truly feel like I am in the movie "A Streetcar Named Desire". It is the best secret in town, the rates are very reasonable, and we do and would hightly reccommend to stay there if you are on business or vacation... The Saint Philip is PERFECT!
