“A Tired Property”

Embassy Suites Hotel Atlanta - Centennial Park

This property has a good location right next to the Park and 1 block from CNN Center and Philips Arena. The property shows signs of heavy use - banged walls, chipped paint, scarred walls. The tub area looked dirty, primarily as a result of age. The internet signal was so poor I had to have it removed from the room bill. The staff was friendlier than just about anywhere else in Atlanta - an area that I find to have very poor customer service. Avoid the Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in the lobby -service was terrible, especially for the price paid. Also, the free breakfast is worth what you pay for it.

“Great location, top-shelf service.”

I just stayed 5 nights at this Embassy Suites, and I have to say everything was just great. The staff was friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. I had room 649 which had a great view of Centennial Park.

Complimentary breakfast was available in Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. It is spacious and the only delay was getting omelets but never more than 5 minutes. Very friendly staff here as well.

I would stay here again.

“Great Place to Stay”

Embassy Suites Hotel Atlanta - Centennial Park

Apr 7, 2008

This is a very nice hotel. Not at all like some other reviews I read. If you are expecting opulance, its not here. If you are expecting a great location, nice clean room, excellent breakfast and friendly staff, then this is what you want. At the end of the day you have the manager's cocktail hour with FREE drinks. Very nice. One block from the Georgia Aquarium. Beatiful Park across the street. Definitely worth it.

“Don't expect your typical Embassy Suites”

Embassy Suites Hotel Atlanta - Centennial Park

2 of 5 stars
Erie, Colorado
Mar 5, 2008

I stayed at this hotel for two reasons: I love Embassy Suites and it was right next to the aquarium (a must see). I was very disappointed.

First impressions of the hotel were great. The front desk staff was nice. The hotel looked clean. That's where it ended. The elevator button for our floor was broken and we had to go to a different floor and come back down. There was a used feminine product in the hallway that I had to direct my son around - not to mention dodging his questions about this as well. We had just passed two housekeeping staff that walked by us and the trash.

Our room looked nice and had a great view. However, our sheets and towels had makeup and other people's hair on them. There was also hair in the sink and on the floor.

We found a floor key for housekeeping on our bed. It made me wonder about the security of our room. I took it downstairs and talked to a manager about the above issues. She assured me they would take care of it. They did replace our towels, but for three days we complained about our sheets and they were never changed.

We only attempted breakfast once. They were out of most of the items, which made for a long line for omlettes. When I asked for an item that was out, the manager abruptly informed me there were no more. Another guest heard his rude reply and told me this was the worst Embassy she has ever stayed in. We had a hard time finding a place to eat, as all the tables were covered with dirty dishes.

We did not spend a lot of time in the hotel, but when we did, most of our encounters with the staff were unsuccessful. Not only did they not make an effort to assist us, but they were rude in telling us they couldn't help. Ex: I called for a different pillow for my son at 3 am and was told "that's all the pillows they had and I was out of luck".

We tried the pool (which my son was very excited about) but it was very dirty and the hot tub was cold. Even the sauna was out of order.

When we checked out, we walked over to the bellmen with our bags. He walked right by us, went around the corner and wandered down the hall. When he came back, a man came in with a cart of bags. He again walked past us and went to the man who had just entered. We waited another 10 minutes before I went to the front desk for assistance.

When we left, my son commented that the people in Atlanta hotels were not very nice. He was right in his assessment with this hotel and this is one Embassy we will not visit again.

“Nice Touches Left a Great Impression”

Embassy Suites Hotel Atlanta - Centennial Park

5 of 5 stars
Western Massachusetts
Feb 29, 2008

I booked the Embassy for two main reasons:

1) Because of its proximity to the conference center

2) Aside from attending a conference I also needed a hotel that could host small meetings.

My expectations were not terribly high. I've stay in most of the nicer properties in Atlanta including several that are more expensive than this one, such as the Marriott Marquis - and it should be noted that I don't have a particularly strong like for the city in general, but my mind may have changed some.

The room at the Embassy suites was upper average. I'd say typical with what one would expect. Comfortable beds, two large flat screen televisions, and the seperated sleeping and living areas that make these all-suites hotels perfect for business travel.

I ended up holding a meeting in my room, and appreciated the flexibility of turning my living room area into a functional meeting space with room for 6 guests. We were even able to use the flatscreen television as a monitor for a powerpoint presentation. The meeting was a success and I was thrilled.

Service at the hotel was flawless. Aside from my in-room meeting I had also booked one of the conference spaces just off the lobby. Hallie, my contact for booking the space and catering, was responsive, friendly, and took great pains to ensure that we had everything we needed. We also received above-and-beyond service from the fellow who took care of the operations side of getting our conference room set up. I believe his name was Vince. Whatever they are paying him, he should be given a raise. And I don't say this lightly, we run such conferences across the nation and I've never had a better experience.

The front desk was courteous and moved guests along at an unrushed yet efficient pace.

The complimentary buffet that is set within the on-site Ruth's Chris Steakhouse was plentiful, properly prepared, and well staffed.

They also host a nightly event with free wine, beer, and snacks in the hotel courtyard which provided a great start to every evening. My business travel companions and I ended up having lively discussions with several of the other attending guests. It is just a fantastic touch, and one that other hotels should take note of - when you are stuck in an unfamiliar town on business this builds a sense of community right within your own walls.

Anyways, long story short; This is the kind of hotel experience you'd hope for - and one that will undoubtedly having me booking at the Embassy Suites again whenever I find myself in Atlanta.

*Addtional tip - We ate at Vini Vidi Vici, in mid-town I believe. It was the best meal we had in Atlanta...who knew I loved grilled octopus?

Enjoy!
