We stayed here for a Saturday recently. We booked the "Heavenly Weekend" package (late check out, free breakfast buffet), and are SPG members, so we were on a preferred guest floor.
Our room was on the 63rd floor -- 6305. The view was due north, which was excellent...especailly at night.
All parts of the hotel that we were in were clean and in good condition. The room was average sized....not big, but certainly not tiny. Bathroom was small, but useable. The room and bathroom were both very clean, with only minimal wear showing on the carpet and some of the furniture. No "funky smells" or odd stains.
The room was equipped with a desk with fax/copier, phone, and coffee maker, and there was a mini-bar (over priced as usual....we brought our own refreshements and stored them in the cooler).
Beds were very comfortable.
No noise issues. We could here occasional voices from the hall and adjacent rooms, but nothing worse than usual. And of course, there were the average city sounds from outside. But still very quiet at most times.
Hall ways and public areas were all clean, up to date, and comfortable.
Elevators were quite quick and efficient for a 73 story building. We never had to wait for more than a minute or so. And the ride up and down is fast...only about 30 seconds if it doesn't stop on other floors. It is a little inconvenient that in order to get to the Sundial (floor 71-73) from your room, you have to go all the way down to the lobby level and take the glass elevator back up. The central elevators can go to the 71st floor, but they have that floor locked out on them. It was only a few floors above our room, but we had to go all the way down then back up. No big deal though....I like elevator rides!
Breakfast at the cafe was good, and service was excellent.
Pool and fitness center were nice, and there was no additional charge to use them (We're SPG members....I'm not sure if there is an additional charge for non-members). It's right by a couple of the large ball rooms, so you may have to dodge meeting-goers or people in formal attire while you are in your trunks and flip flops!
We did not use their parking, so can't comment on it.
The only complaints I had were that the mini-bar and room service were over priced (which is to be expected...so no real suprise there) and that the bathroom had no ehaust or ventilation fan (it gets pretty steamy after a hot shower).
It is a very big hotel and can get crowded....so it may be a little overwhelming to some.
I would recommend this property....if nothing else, for the view (be sure to request a higher floor....they will try to accomodate you).
