My wife and I stayed one night post cruise here before returning to Canada. The physical state of hotel was a little worn but this was compensated for by the remarkable friendliness and helpfulness of the staff... especially a young man named Edwin a doorman/porter who could not have been more helpful. He gave us detailed directions to the municipal bus stop close by.... so we could go to see El Morro fort etc in Old San Juan. The bus ride was slowed by absolutely awful traffic but worthwhile to see how the locals had to get around. The whole experience at the hotel was positive and despite the need to spruce up the rooms..... especially the bathroom... it was the people at the desk and young Edwin who pulled up my rating of this place (which is close to the airport ..).

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Isla Verde precruise on January 24, 2008.

Check in was a breeze. We were given a room on the top floor (8th floor) with a view of the ocean and pool area.

The room was a bit small, but very clean and nice. It had a balcony as well, but it was "standing room only" balcony...only about 18 inches or so in depth.

Every one at the hotel was very friendly.

The hotel is in easy walking distance of many restaraunts, a casino, and the beach.

I would stay here again next time I return to San Juan.

My husband & I stayed here one night before leaving on a cruise. We were amazed at how nice the hotel was. Probably the nicest Holiday Inn we've ever stayed in. Had a pool side room with a balcony and enjoyed sitting out there. Hotel was located within walking distance of the beach and downtown. Also close to airport. Holiday Inn staff was friendly and helpful. Ate in the restaurant twice - the food was good, although it was quite a wait for food to arrive. Would stay at this hotel again if we ever go back to San Juan. Recommend for everyone.

My husband and I stayed here a total of three times over X-mas (2 nights) and the beginning of Jan. 08. From our 1st stay we were welcomed with open arms. We had the great pleasure of meeting Robin who was most friendly. We left to continue our trip to the BVI's and upon returning to San Juan decided to stay an extra week to tour Puerto Rico. We decided to stay here again for another night to decide what we wanted to do for the rest of our trip. We again talked to Robin who sat us down and help us with an itinerary. He was such a HUGE help and he spent 1/2 hour with us to figure out what we wanted to do. At the end of the week we came back again to spend the last night at the Holiday Inn. It is soooo convenient to be close to the airport and the beach and the stores. We had dinner at the Chinese Restaurant two times and it was great both times. The thing that really stood out in our minds was the staff. There was not ONE staff member that we would pass that did not have a nice hello and a genuine smile for us. It was a real treat. The pool was awesome as well. The beach is picture postcard!! The girls at the front desk were awesome and had a great sense of humour as well - which I think is just as important as a smile!
