Great holiday for price paid. Apartments could do with a face-lift but are very spacious and clean with daily maid service. Comfortable beds & kettle & toaster provided free to apartments on self catering basis.
Have not had one cockroach in the 2 visits (this July & last July). Not enough sunbeds by far and had to get to pool by 8am to get sunbeds. Millions of Irish people - is Ireland empty at this time of year?!! Plus Spanish, German & Dutch families too.
Good entertainment programme during the day & night for adults & kids.
Ate in the hotel restaurant this year for dinner - very good food, lots of choice and buffet style.
Centre of Puerto del Carmen is a good half an hour walk away or jump on the bus outside the hotel and 1 Euro will get you to the new town or over to the Harbour where there is a really good selection of restaurants.
Plenty of sunshine - what more do you want? Lovely island. We'll be back sometime.

wer do i start the costa mar appartment is a dump im just home from der with my two children and ten of my family..i was first put on the highest floor wer i was meet by a j.c.b tractor the size of a house out side my door after been moved the next morning my aunty and her children wear awoken by some visitors oh yes COCKROCHES they came they went after managment got the extermanators in. the place is a dump...if your planning on staying by the pool to do some sun bathing little tip set your alarm for 7 o clock because its like something out of a carry on film grow men and women going head to head with each other for a sun bed as der is 180 appartments and 80 sun beds to accomadate ever body so bring your boxing gloves....oh and no point complaning to hotel managment because i was told "wot ever".! so for a hotel it is an absoloute disgrace only for my family we would of been lost and of course eddie the kids entertainer at nite......

Costa mar hotel is very poor miles away from purto del carmon, all rooms were full of cockroaches. there was lots of building work going around the complex so it woke pepole up at 7am.

There are 180 apartments but there is only 80 sunbeds at the pool so its a race in the mournings to see who gets one also signs on the wall saying do not reserve beds with towls but they do.
good enternament for the kids thats about it. if u saty here go buy a sweeping brush as they dont supply yuo with one.

just returned from a family holiday to the costa mar and was pleasantly suprised after reading all the bad reviews before we went!
the apartments are all set in a kind of semi-circle around the reception and pool area,the grounds are kept very clean and well maintained.
there are a few shops,bars and cafes across from the reception which are very handy as you barely have to leave the complex.
the apartments are very spacious, yes they could do with a facelift but i found them to be very clean.we had a really large balcony which overlooked the sea which was great.
the maids were in every single day and were very friendly.
we asked to hire a toaster for the week and recieved a kettle and toaster free of charge!
didnt eat in the restuarant itself so cant comment but ate regulary from the pool snackbar wich was very nice and decently priced.
there was also entertainment most nights of the week wich were good ecspecially the drag show which was a super night. all in all a great holiday and would go back!
