The hotel does have a nice view. However, on arrival our toilet was not clean, the floor was gritty, tatty furniture and pokey bathrooms with basic shower. We tried to leave immediately but told we would be charged minimum 3 nights. Sorry, not rich enough to do this! We were upgraded to a bigger room with nice view, but that night visited by cockroaches. Before dinner, bathroom door jammed and told by reception it would be 45 mins before anyone came! We tried to leave the next day, even offering to pay for the third night even though we wouldnt be there, then told we had to pay for four nights to leave early! They climbed down, but we still had to pay for a night we didn't use. As for the swimming area, it has water snakes and is murky, only up to adult lower thigh in depth. You have to go to next bay for a real beach but you will be charged $80 minimum from the local water taxi drivers who run things like a cartel. Or use the local bus service. It is a shame that Marigot Bay taxi drivers do not appear to want to support the economy of the local village Anse La Raye Friday night Fish Fry by charging reasonable fares to tourists. $100 round trip for a 15 minute drive is a joke and disincentive.

Whilst it is true to say the bay can get a little murky after a heavy rainfall it clears within hours . Sea snakes ? no, eals ! very beautiful and rare ,enjoy them . water thigh high? maybe to someone 17feet tall, superyachts and yachts visit the bay continually , in fact at the end of the sandspit the water goes from 0-35 feet deep in as many feet out . The furniture in all rooms are only 2 years old ! Stuck door was actually where the clients unintentionally locked themselves out. Cockroaches are actually indiginous to st lucia and occasionally come in the houses to forage ,not to be confused with signs of filth as implied, beware also crickets ,tree frogs, humming birds ,parrots ,seahorses etc , etc. LOL ! All quite natural to St Lucia .
Finally ,$100 e.c. for a round trip to Anse Le Ray including waiting time ,That's 18 GB pounds Thats cheap , especially if you are from England , anyway the taxis are not owned by us and we are unable to control prices.
