“What a gloriously serene little place!”

The Muses House

We stayed at the Muses after reading all the fabulous reviews and it lived up to all our expectations. It was a little hard to find it initially and we kept driving around and around until we finally spotted the door and small sign to the hotel.

Stephen and Adrian, the hosts, made us feel welcome and special from the minute we arrived until we checked out 2 days later (Stephen even got up super early to ensure we fit breakfast in before we caught our early ferry from Kusadasi).

Our room was immaculate and it was as if the fairies came every day whilst we were out! They left us little special touches in the room and it continued to look as spotless as when we'd first checked in. Comfortable bed, luxurious decor, lovely peaceful garden area outside our room to relax in and the complimentary soft drinks in the fridge were a nice touch.

We loved the restaurant, only a short walk down the road, and had every meal there. A great traditional setting and excellent food at extremely reasonable prices. Given the menu wasn't in English, they would just show us what was in the pots to select from which is such a great way to eat. You like, you point, you eat!

We then loved to come back to the hotel and admire the foyer's amazing display of candles - ask Stephen how many and long it takes to light them each night!

We dropped our car off in Kusadasi on the second day we were there but it was easy enough to catch the dolmas (local bus) back to the hotel. The Turkish peple are so friendly that you can always ask for directions, just as we did when we were looking for the spot to catch the bus from.

The owners truly know what they're doing here and we certainly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to avoid the touristy, hustle and bustle of Kusadasi (yet still be close by) and enjoy a quiet stay in the heart of a little rural cherry village.

Everything everyone has written about this hotel is true. It's a great place, however, i wish i'd known a few things before we checked in. Kirazli really is a typical working village, which means eating out can be tricky. there are some restaurants in the village, but their opening hours are erratic and not much english is spoken. (There was no chef at the hotel during our stay). Which means either eating early in Kusadasi and getting a bus back (they stop fairly early), or not drinking and driving back (about 25minutes), neither of which is ideal.
We booked there to be close to Ephesus, but apart from the classical sites, there is little to recommend in this area. It is blighted by 30 years of the worst planning I've seen in the Med, and there are awful holiday camps and high rises everywhere on the coast. There's a national park about 40 minutes away with some pleasant beaches, but you'd really need a car to enjoy them. other than that, you are in package holiday hell!
The Muses House is a very intimate hotel, so it's easy to meet the other guests. If you are staying in the tower room, which is above the lounge area, you may well be kept awake by other guests making merry. The garden rooms are quieter.
The intimacy can be quite full on at times and although the staff are lovely, they can be too attentive, eg not leaving you alone to refill your own coffee cup!! A buffet breakfast would be a more relaxed way to start the day rather than the slightly awkward silver service routine. But i am nit-picking, this is a lovely hotel where you will be very (if not too) well looked after.

My wife and I recently stayed here during a trip through Turkey. This was by far our favorite hotel. The staff was charming and attentive. The rooms comfortable and well appointed and breakfast was wonderful. Since the hotel is so small and intimate it's easy to find new friends
in the common areas.

There were a few challenges with being in a remote village. There was no land-line phone service due to some recent weather and a telecom strike. But the benefits of the seclusion were far better for us. We really felt like we could get away.

The owner knows the area well and even without a car we found the surrounding areas easy to reach.

We will definitely be back for more.

“Profesionalism, paradise, relaxation, comfort. Above all Paradise.”

The Muses House

I have recently come back from turkey and stayed in a little villiage called Karazla just outside of Kusadasi. I stayed at the Muses Boutique hotel which i would highly recomend to anyone traveling to this area of the Country. The only way i can describe it is that as soon as you ring the door bell, you are greeted by Paradise, relaxation and extremely genuine and friendly Atmosphere. Steven, the owner of the premises and his loyal staff solatin and Girkan are always there if you need anything and they are always appear instantly with what you are after. I highly recommend a trip to the Muses Boutique Hotel if you are staying around Kusadasi you will not be disapointed. I Gaurantee you.

“great experience”

i agree with all the reviewers. It was one of our most memorable experience from our recent greece and turkey trip.

It is located in a small farming village. about 12 km away from Kusadasi. fortunately, we had a car, but one can use the bus/taxi. finding the place was easy, though we did wonder if we were heading the right way.

otherwise, the experience is highly recommended. It is a boutique hotel decorated with good taste. One feels very comfortable immediately. the gardens are beautiful and relaxing. pool is available. Service is great. Stephen and Adrian are amicable, wonderful hosts.

we stayed in main hotel, but other guests reports that the private villa is amazing.

the best part for us was the interacting with the villagers. (the hotel really is in a village.) it was refreshing to get away from tourism hotspot and constant, unwanted solicitations. we had dinner at the "village diner or restaurant," few minutes walking distance from the hotel. we sat on the carpeted floor, overlooking the orchards, having the home made wine (not bad) and organic dinner, while the other villagers played backgammon at other tables. b/c my girlfriend is scared of dogs (harmless), the restaurant owner actually walked us back to the hotel. great experience.

if you are going to ephesus, it is only 15-30 min drive.

we highly recommend this hotel. even the pickiest travellers will be happy with this hotel.
