Although Anguilla doesn’t have many clubs and discos, there are plenty of nightlife opportunities if one knows where to look.

The majority of the nightlife scene is centered around hotels and restaurants, especially during the winter time (high season for tourists).

Many of the local restaurants will organize nightly entertainment, which consists of live music (guitarists, pianists, reggae bands, steel drum bands and even disco), and performance dancers.  If nightly entertainment is not available during an off season visit, the weekends will make up for it.  A great place to check out for live music is The Pumphouse, which hosts live reggae bands all the time.  Thursday nights are supposed to be the hottest night there.

The atmosphere at some of these organized events can be quite romantic, as many of the islands visitors are couples.  Imagine listening to soft music by candle light, eating delicious food while sipping on wine, all with a beautiful backdrop of the Caribbean Sea.

There are also great opportunities to dance.  Many of the venues offering live music also have dance floors (sometimes located on the sandy beach), and all are encouraged to let loose.  Shoal bay and Sandy Ground are two local hotspots for dancing on the island.

Much of the late nightlife in the area won’t begin until 11pm.  If planning on attending these events, note that taxis do not regularly drive past midnight, so make sure to arrange transportation for the way back.
