Bermuda Railway Trail is a great option to get around Warwick and the rest of the island. Owned and managed by Bermuda Government, it offers the travelers the opportunity to walk or bike along the abandoned rails of the train that once ran from the northern to southern tip of the island after inaugurated in 1931. The train stopped its service in 1948. The trail is not paved and quite uneven in its design: at times having steps, no sidewalks or interrupted at other, be prepared for the unexpected. You will surely enjoy the great views of the sea, the fields, the farms and the lush vegetation.
Be sure to take some precautions as it can get very hot and the sun can literally burn you down. Apply sunscreen with high SPFprotection, carry bottel water as there are no ways along the trail to get water.
To have a better idea of the trail, take a look at the walking guide (Welcome to the Railway Trail) issued by Bermuda Government. You can only obtain it at the Visitors Service Bureau of the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce in Hamilton or St. George. there is also some literature that you can read: The Bermuda Railway, Gone but not Forgotten by Colin Pomery; Rattle and Shake, the Story of the Bermuda Railway by David Raine and Bermuda: Seeing the Sights bt Railway by Bermuda Railaw Company.
