In this tropical climate, there is little about the basic weather to complain about. In both the Winter and summer months, the average temperatures range between 76° and 88° F. Also, Montserrat is endowed with a light, consistent breeze between the mountains and the sea. There is about 60 feet of rainfall a year, leading to the lush, verdant forests and natural fauna surrounding the island. To dress for the climate, cotton, sarong textiles and light clothes are recommended. However, since it can get a bit chilly at night in the winter months, travelers can also pack as sweater or light summer jacket for comfort.
Again, like a constant, lingering ghost that keeps reappearing, it is necessary to mention the volcano in Montserrat, especially in the weather section. This volcano is still active, it still rumbles, and lava still flows from its jowels. Though it is safe to travel to Montserrat, there is always a possibility, however slight, of another eruption. This is why it is important tourists do not pass the Exclusion zone and stick to the parts of the islands that are deemed safe. Tourist will also be notified by their hotel or the local authorities if there is any strange activity coming from the volcano.
