It began as a humble fishing village, but somewhere along the way, Dinard grew into one of coastal France's most popular tourist destinations. To accomodate this fact, hotels and villas grew up everywhere over the decades, and the following attractions staked their claims to offer the visitor a variety of opportunities to experience Dinard.
The Musee Chateau, located at Rue du Chateau, celebrates Dinard's local history and is a great place to begin your visit to the coastal town. Another museum, one that elaborates on the site of Dinard as a long standing coastal resort, is the Musee du Site Balneaire. Visit Dinard's Marine Museum that traces the history of Dinard's coastal legacy.
A walk on the Promenade du Claire de Lune promises some rewarding views of the coast and area. Les Jardins Anglais is located near the River Rance and has some beautiful garden scenery just waiting for several clicks of your brand new digital. Emeraude Lines offers a variety of river trips to get you offshore and seeing Dinard and nearby St. Malo from a completely different perspective. Speaking of the river, the Dinard Visitor Center is located on the river at its hydro-electric dam that crosses the estuary and provides (shockingly) about 10% of Brittany's electricity.
